(Press Release) Austin, TX- In the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Texas-based band The Statesboro Revue has teamed up with the water amusement park Schlitterbahn in Corpus Christi to raise money for hurricane victims. The all-ages event will donate 100% of the profits from the concert to charitable organizations assisting in the relief efforts. "Growing up in South Texas (Corpus Christi) and having family in Corpus Christi, Rockport, and Aransas Pass, Hurricane Harvey's impact has weighed on me mentally and emotionally since early last week. Thank God my family evacuated and are all safe and accounted for, and so far their homes are for the most part intact. However, my family's well being is not where the impact stops. My heart aches for all of those affected by this catastrophic natural disaster, but I'm also overjoyed by the outpour of love, support, and care that Texans, and other states for that matter, are showing those in need” said Stewart Mann from The Statesboro Revue. In addition to donating their time to the benefit concert on Saturday, The Statesboro Revue have also created a charitable t-shirt that is available for sale now on their website. 100% of the profits from the t-shirt will go to relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey. "Texans have a centuries old track record for standing up for what they believe in and for lifting each other up in times of need, so it should come as no surprise that so many Texans are rushing to the aid of the victims of Hurricane Harvey. We are the Lone Star State, and that "Lone Star" represents unity, pride, and our ability to "Shine On" regardless of the circumstances. So we will rise up, and Shine On, as we've done since 1836. Join us this Saturday for the Benefit Concert: The Statesboro Revue at Schlitterbahn - Corpus Christi in support of our neighbors in Port Aransas. The #ShineOnTexas shirts will be available at our show to purchase or you're welcome to order the #ShineOnTexas shirts online to support those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Shine on, Texas!” - The Statesboro Revue. The benefit concert starts at 6pm this coming Saturday (9/2) with Corpus Christi-based band Steven James & The Jaded, followed by Corpus Christi-native and The Voice alum, Clarissa Serna, and The Statesboro Revue. It's an all ages event and ALL proceeds will go directly to Hurricane Harvey Relief. https://www.schlitterbahn.com/corpus-christi and/or https://facebook.com/statesbororevue.
