![]() (Press Release) The Wild Feathers return with “Big Sky,” their new single, which was debuted on Friday, March 30th on Sirius XM The Highway as a “Highway Find”, which is the station’s premiere discovery program. While never previously receiving prominent country radio airplay, “Big Sky” was heard by Highway program director JR Schuman who immediately identified it as something that his audience would embrace. “We’ve always just made our music regardless of what genre it’s supposed to fit in”, says guitarist and vocalist Taylor Burns. “We were surprised but excited when we found out that the Highway wanted to play it right away. It just reminded us of the old school way that radio used to discover bands.”

She also reveals of Cannon, “I don’t do something unless I feel like I’m called to do it. That’s what I felt like, so I honored it. It’s like the same feeling of when you know something is right musically, with a song or a batch of songs – the same feeling, but this was attached to a person instead of a batch of songs.” ![]() Singer-songwriter Kelly Willis returns with a new album, and her first in over ten years, Back Being Blue, due May 18th. Produced by spouse Bruce Robison, Back Being Blue contains ten tracks, six of which were penned by Willis with additional contributions from Rodney Crowell who wrote “We’ll Do It For Love Next Time” as well as appearances by Eleanor Whitmore (of The Mastersons and Steve Earle and the Dukes), Mark Spencer (of Son Volt), and Trevor Nealoh (of Band of Heathens). “I attempted to make music that could fit in any era. But leans on the simplicity of the music that first inspired me. Roots rockabilly country blues, to narrow it down for you! Kind of a Nick Lowe meets Skeeter Davis meets Crystal Gayle. Sounds that were in full blaze when I first moved to Austin.” – Kelly Willis Pre-order the album HERE. ![]() Watch/Listen to "The Clear Lake" HERE (New York, NY Press Release) Atlanta-based alt/blues rock quartet, Brother Hawk, announce the release the title track ahead of their new album, The Clear Lake, due out May 11, 2018. Today, ANDREW LEAHEY & THE HOMESTEAD return with a brand new single “Start the Dance,” the first song to be released since 2016’s Skyline in Central Time and the first from their upcoming LP We Came Here to Run.
An anthemic roots rocker penned by Leahey and featuring guitar work from Sadler Vaden (Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit), "Start the Dance" delivers a jolt of classic-minded rock and roll with nuanced storytelling around the all too familiar point in a relationship when you decide to plow ahead or pull the plug. Leahey says of the track, “We've been kicking off our shows with this one. To me, ‘Start the Dance’ is an American rock & roll anthem -- the sort of song you'd want to hear in your car, which remains my favorite place to listen to music. It's about the moment that pops up during any new relationship, where you have to decide if you're going to move forward or call it quits. It all comes down to that final line in the chorus – ‘Stop the running and start the dance.’ Or, in other words, ‘Let's stop spinning our wheels and start heading somewhere. Let's turn all of this running around -- this manic activity -- into art.’ In that way, it's something of a call-to-arms for this band, as well.” For more information visit: WEBSITE | FACEBOOK | TWITTER ![]() “From life to love, to the crippling sting of heartbreak, these songs are a part of my soul.
