4th Annual Children’s Hospital Rodeo Experience Returns with Performance from Austin Wahlert

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Press Release) - For the fourth consecutive year, Nashville recording artist, Colorado-native, and former professional bull rider Austin Wahlert, will return for a live performance at Boettcher Atrium in Children's Hospital Colorado for the 4th Annual Children's Hospital Colorado Rodeo Experience on January 12, 2018.

The event, which will be held from 10:00am-noon, offers patients the opportunity to meet professional cowboys and cowgirls and participate with them in rodeo activities such as stick horse barrel racing, dummy roping and patient room visits.

The Colorado Children's hospital is near and dear to Wahlert's heart, as his 5 year old daughter, Raegan, who is diagnosed with Down syndrome, had open heart surgery there as an infant.

Wahlert, who performed at the 2017 National Western Stock Show and Rodeo and RFD-TV's 2017 The American Rodeo at AT&T Stadium, has had great success in both America and Europe, where his song "Long Live Cowboys" hit #8 on the international chart and broke the top 100 on the pop chart. The Patient Aid Fund is used to help ease the financial burden families often bear when a child is hospitalized.  This important funding is used for housing support, meal cards, transportation, and many other incidentals families are often not expecting to incur.  Over the years, families have been able to find comfort in not having to choose between paying a heating bill and putting food on the table for other family members who may be at home, but still experiencing the financial impact of a family member’s hospitalization and/or treatment.

As Children’s Hospital Colorado continues to expand services regionally, it has become more apparent that the families traveling a great distance will often suffer more of a financial hardship whether that is due to having to take leave from work or leaving their job all together to care for their sick child. Donate here.
