(Nashville, Tenn. -- April 20, 2017 Press Release)  -- Southern California’s country rocker  Mark Mackay  introduces the country lifestyle with west-coast flair throughout new album Trials & Tribulations   to release on  May 1st.

“The cool thing about this album and why I chose the songs I did... it's a great blend of my personal songwriting and co-written material, along with outside finds but all of the tracks remain true to my artistry,”  said Mackay. “I think the flow of this album has a quality that traditional country fans will appreciate while including enough mainstream influence for today’s audience.”

Trials & Tribulations  was recorded in Los Angeles with producer, Phil Dixon  and mixed by  Christian James Hand.  With half of the eight-track collection written solely by Mackay, the project  exemplifies his evocative songwriting and authentic sound that sits at the crossroads of country and rock-and-roll.

Trials & Tribulations   Track Listing:

1. I’ve Already Won (Debra Gussin)
2. Settle for a Small Town (Mark Mackay)
3. I Can’t Stop You (Jeffery Steele)
4.  Road to Mustang (Mark Mackay)
5.  I’ll Be Alright (Mark Mackay)
6.  Better in Love (Mark Mackay)
7.  Without Me (Beau Garner)

Currently on tour with  Joe Nichols   and  Jackie Lee, Mackay has headlined numerous clubs and festivals. He’s also had the opportunity to open for country stars like Frankie Ballard, Eli Young Band, Cole Swindell, Tracy Lawrence and Old Dominion, plus legendary rockers The Marshall Tucker Band, 38 Special, Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) and Orianthi. This past year, Mackay played 230 shows in which Music Connection  recognized him as one of the  Top 100 National Live Acts. For an extended list of tour dates, click  here.

Raised in the greater San Francisco area and a longtime resident of Los Angeles, Mackay is a talented multi-instrumentalist who can play guitar, banjo, and piano--in which he was classically trained.
