NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville outcast  Wheeler Walker Jr. is declaring war on Country radio after several “program directors” from some of the nation’s “best” stations lied to his face about playing new single “Summers in Kentucky,” from his forthcoming masterpiece and second album,  Ol’Wheeler.

“I have to say this is extremely disappointing but not surprising. Mainstream country radio shows their irrelevance more and more every day,” Walker said from the worldwide headquarters of The Wheeler Walker Jr. Podcast. “What the f*ck did I fly around the country and meet all of these a**holes for? I’m gonna go back to my original idea: using payola to bribe these fat f*cks with Krispy Kremes.”

With Ol’ Wheeler due June 2 on Pepperhill Music/Thirty Tigers, Walker is calling on his true fans to rain down their fury on local program directors - in the form of song requests - who have decided not to play his music. He’s especially pissed at Nate Deaton at KRTY in San Jose, Calif. and at Phathead at WJVC in Long Island, N.Y.

“Who?” Nate Deaton said when contacted for an explanation, “That guy? He thought I was serious?”

“The joke is on those a**holes,” Walker declared. “They’re the ones who are gonna miss out when Ol’ Wheeler blows up.”

That’s because early signs show demand for Ol’ Wheeler will be great. He’s kicking off the summerlong tour with a sold-out hometown show at Exit/In in Nashville on release day as well as a sold-out Troubadour show in Los Angeles. And his new podcast, The Wheeler Walker Jr. Podcast, has drawn tens of thousands of listeners since its debut last month and is the No. 4 Music Podcast in the nation. The raunchy music video for first single “Puss In Boots” has already made it’s way to the No. 1 spot on iTunes Country Videos.

Walker’s “unfathomably obscene and undeniably offensive” (Rolling Stone Country) debut album, Redneck Sh*t, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Comedy Albums chart and in the Top 10 Country Albums chart. Fans can preview the album by checking out the three videos Walker has released to fans already:
"Summers In Kentucky"
"P*ssy King"
"Puss In Boots"

Ol’ Wheeler  is produced by Dave Cobb with the same band put together by the elite producer for Redneck Sh*t. The album builds on that 2016 debut, which proved to be no novelty record. Ol’ Wheeler takes a deeper look at life spent misanthropically on the road and in the crosshairs of Nashville’s establishment.

1. P*ssy King (Wheeler Walker Jr)
