Norm Brunet recently released the video for his new song, "It Don't Get Better Than This." Brunet had this to say about the track, “The single was inspired after one of my shows in the States. I was at a fair in the mid-west and I met a young couple in the crowd while I was signing autographs. He’s a trucker and she’s a stay-at-home mom. They have two kids. They told me that they don’t have any of the modern trappings like smartphones or large-screen tvs. They just a simple farm house with acres of land for privacy and growing their veggies and fruits etc. I was taken aback by how they were so happy, having found it through their faith, friends, family and their children. What a novel idea!” You can keep up with Norm on his website at www.normbrunet.com.

Sonny Smith, of Sonny And The Sunsets, debuts his new music video “Burnin' Up” (feat. Angel Olsen). Both the song and video for the second single off Smith’s forthcoming album, Rod For Your Love (March 2, Easy Eye Sound), prominently features Olsen, and the two swap harmonies throughout, turning the love song into a poignant conversation between partners. Said Olsen about the video, directed by Ryan Daniel Browne: “I realized Ryan not only was a friend and sometimes bandmate of Sonny’s but he had also shot a video I really liked for the band Big Search, and to tell you the truth I liked it so much I went to see the singer play in LA at some warehouse when we were recording my last record. After putting all this together, I trusted him, and what I mean by that is that I trusted his aesthetic. I knew he’d find a way to create something with our images that could be simple and real, and I also knew he had Sonny’s best interest in mind. I’m always so relieved to realize that the director and the songwriter are old pals. Sonny Smith will release his tenth studio album, Rod For Your Love via Dan Auerbach's new label, Easy Eye Sound, on March 2nd. Rod For Your Love is available for pre-order on CD, vinyl, and digitally here. |
