It's been a big year for Leland Sundries, they opened for Low Cut Connie at Bowery Ballroom, performed a Paste session, hit the road, and put down tracks for a new EP due early next year. Now they share their new tune, "If You're Gonna Drive, I'm Gonna Drink" a honky tonk number in the traditional of the Texas songwriters.....with a surprise ending. It's 1/3 true, 1/3 overheard, and 1/3 made up. The B-side is "Lone Prairie," a punk version of a traditional cowboy song that member Nick Loss-Eaton first heard from the Down Hill Strugglers, a Brooklyn string band, at the Brooklyn Folk Fest. He says, "We asked ourselves what the Replacements would do with it and tried to do that." And they succeeded. Get Plugged In above.
