(BOSTON, Mass.) - Following rave reviews of their live Hank Williams tribute concerts over the past several years, rockers Girls Guns and Glory has announced the release of a live tribute album from the shows. Girls Guns and Glory Presents: A Tribute to Hank Williams - Live! is slated to drop on February 24, 2015 via Lonesome Day Records' new imprint Dry Lighting Records.
"Hank Williams was a game changer," says Girls Guns and Glory vocalist/guitarist Ward Hayden. "I've read a few Hank biographies and something that often gets mentioned that I feel a connection with is that before Hank Williams there weren't cowboy hats in 'Hillbilly Folk,' which became country music. That's a western thing. Hank's from Alabama and there aren't too many cowboys in Alabama. He got the image of the American Cowboy from watching guys like Gene Autry on TV and he incorporated it into his style and after his success it became commonplace for that western style to show up in country music."
The 12-track Girls Guns and Glory Presents: A Tribute to Hank Williams - Live! was recorded on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day 2014 at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA. "We chose these two days because in the legacy of Hank Williams these are the dates of the two final shows he never got to play," explains Hayden. "On New Year's Eve back in 1952 Hank Williams was slated to perform in Charleston, WV. He wound up staying the night in Knoxville, TN and never arriving at that show due to foul weather. New Year's Eve 1953, is a key date in Hank's legacy because en route to his show in Canton, OH his driver pulled off at a gas station to find Hank unresponsive in the backseat of his Cadillac. Jan 1, 1953 for all intents and purposes, is the day the world bid farewell to its greatest country songwriter."
The band chose to perform and record these shows specifically to honor the legend and his music and to celebrate his life and legacy. "He was a wild man and he felt both physical and emotional pain in a very intense and deep way," continues Hayden. "His songs are a testament to that. Hank's music has had a huge impact on the way I view music and songwriting and the emotional honesty that can get put into a three minute long song. He was a master of boiling down a moment and an emotion, and in my own songwriting I have constantly used his work as an example of how you don't need to necessarily get wordy and say a lot, all the while still saying so much on a much deeper level. This tribute has been a dream come true and the icing on the cake is that we had such a good time performing his songs and bringing up friends to guest with us and share in the experience."
Girls Guns and Glory once again performed another string of Hank Williams tribute concerts this past December and earlier this month in the middle of their U.S. tour. The tribute shows were held in New England from Dec. 27-Jan. 3. This season marks the band's fifth year of performing the Hank Williams Tribute show.

Jericho Woods, a five member group that rides a hazy line between country and Americana, premiered on both the “Billboard Heatseeker” and “iTunes Country Album” Chart with their debut album Same Ol’ Dirt. For an independent act, it was a milestone to get inside the Top 25 on the “iTunes Country Album” charts. However, to make the Top 8 “Billboard Heatseeker” Charts alongside Brandy Clark, Ralph Stanley and Butch Walker was truly an amazing feat and a testament to their active, supportive fan base.
“I’ve seen a lot of acts come through the music scene in the last 30 years that have tried to master that balance of country, rock and Americana influences,” says Pam Lewis, President of PLA Media. “However, until Jericho Woods, I had never heard an act that was able to develop such a distinctively, unique sound. With their organic delivery, you’re left with this concoction that’s one part Johnny Cash and one part Black Crowes.”
Jericho Woods marks the latest addition to the celebrated roster at PLA Media, a company that currently represents the world renowned Johnny Cash Museum and Tina Turner Museum alongside country legends and leaders Lynn Anderson, Phil Vassar, Bryan White and Ashton Shepherd.
On Sunday Feb. 15, Eric and Katherine Church welcomed Tennessee Hawkins Church into the world. He weighed in at 6 lbs. and 12 ounces and was 21 inches long. They plan to call him Hawk, and he joins Boone McCoy as their second son.
“I'm thrilled that Hawk and his mom are doing well. We aren't sleeping very much, but we are enjoying every part of this incredible journey. I'm very blessed and thankful.” – Eric Church
Platinum-selling country star Kristian Bush will be the featured musical guest on TBS' Conan on 2/18 (check local listings). Tune in to see Bush perform “Trailer Hitch,” his feel-good solo single – now Top 20 at radio. Released to rave reviews from music critics, radio, and fans alike, the track was named USA Today’s “Song of the Week," featured in ROLLING STONE Country’s TOP 25 SONGS OF 2014 and iTunes BEST OF 2014 – COUNTRY SONGS. The infectious tune has racked up millions of streams to date, and its inspiring lyrics sparked Bush to partner with Goodwill Industries International for the #GiveItAway campaign to encourage donations of used clothing and goods. The song is a preview of what fans can expect from his highly anticipated debut solo album, SOUTHERN GRAVITY, to be released April 7th on Streamsound Records.
Bush has been leaving his mark on music for more than two decades. The singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist started his career with folk-rock duo Billy Pilgrim in the early ‘90s, releasing a much-lauded pair of albums for Atlantic Records (self-titled debut and BLOOM). In 2004, he exploded onto the country music scene with Sugarland, surpassing sales of over 22 million albums worldwide, achieving five No. 1 singles and winning numerous awards, including GRAMMYs, AMAs, ACMs, CMT Music Awards and CMAs. To date, Bush has garnered six BMI Awards for his songwriting, and in 2011 he founded the music publishing company and songwriting collective Songs of the Architect, collaborating with Matt Nathanson, the dB’s, Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale and more.
In 2015, Bush will continue his PUT YOUR SOUL IN IT TOUR, beginning with appearances at the The Bluebird Cafe (2/26) and the Grand Ole Opry (3/6) in Nashville before heading overseas for select tour stops in Australia.
Nashville, TN (February 17, 2015)- It’s tough to beat the existential experience of seeing a genuinely outstanding artist perform. Only thing that beats that is when two outstanding artists share the bill, and when it’s three outstanding artists sharing the bill, well, that’s a trifecta that’s going to pay off big time.

About the artists:
With the release of his latest album “Outrun The Sun,” Austin-based artist Sam Riggs has emerged as one of the most talked about artists in the independent music scene. In one year's time, Sam has gone from opening act across the major Midwest venues to headliner. His songwriting wizardry, his on stage star quality and his motion picture quality music videos have continued to ensnare the media’s attention on a national level including Rolling Stone Country who is about to feature Sam’s amazing rise in music. Months before the album was released, “When The Lights Go Out” commandeered the #1 spot on CMT Pure 12-Pack, a monster debut that also snagged the #2 spot on the “Top 5 Music Videos of 2013” list. The high octane “Collide” garnered a music spot on ABC’s hit drama “Nashville” and a deluge of critical claim on the album followed from outlets like Country Weekly Magazine,Billboard’s The 615, Texas Music Magazine, and Day Trotter. In Texasthe album produced two Top 10 hits on the Texas Music Chart, and the 6-foot plus troubadour has been featured on “Texas Music Scene TV” with 9-time Grammy winning host Ray Benson and to over 27 million viewers on "Lone Star Roads" with host Justin Frazell. www.samriggsandthenightpeople.com
Most people recognize Zane William’s face and some of his music from the TV show “Troubadour Texas,” a national docu-reality series that transports viewers right into the thick of the day-by-day lives of working Texas musicians. Zane was one of the first featured artists on the show, and while you may have come away thinking he is new on the scene, he isn’t, and he’s definitely no stranger in the songwriting arena. During a two-year stint as a staff writer in Nashville, Zane penned numerous award-winning songs, his biggest being the Billboard Top 20 hit “Hurry Home” recorded by Jason Michael Carroll. And in his home state of Texas penned the Texas Music Chart’s #1 hit “Ride With Me” recorded by Cody Johnson. His much respected songwriting skills have well aided his peers, but don’t think for a minute he can’t sling it from the stage in his own right. His previous album, “Overnight Success” garnered him critical acclaim from outlets like Country Weekly Magazine andBillboard’s The 615, and the title-track hit the Top 20 on the Texas Music Chart. His new album “Texas Like That” showcases a charismatic entertainer and prolific songwriter who penned every single one of the ten new tracks.www.zanewilliamsmusic.com
With the strength of an ever-expanding guitar and vocal flair, and the ability to maintain a band of skilled musicians, Mike Ryan has poured a solid foundation underneath a roofless, long-standing career. His new album “Bad Reputation” is showing all aces, immediately hitting #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart while the single “Dancing All Around It” took the #1 spot on the Texas Music Chart and the Texas Regional Radio Chart in the fall of 2014. The album also hit #7 on the iTunes country chart. Already an accomplished songwriter in Texas, Mike Ryan recently signed a publishing deal with Sea Gayle Music out of Nashville. He’s quickly gaining a stronghold in Texas at a young age – drawing comparisons to the early careers of Stoney LaRue, Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott and other Texas country music staples. Ryan’s second single “Wasting No More Whiskey” is currently #17 and rising on both Texas music charts. www.mikeryanband.com
This spring, brothers Ian and Teague Alexy, also known as Hobo Nephews Of Uncle Frank are set to release their fifth album, American Shuffle.
For nearly a decade the troubadour brothers have been refining their unique brand of Americana. The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls it "timeless songwriting chops" and The Atlantic City weekly describes it as "tremendously played roots music." Hobo Nephews Of Uncle Frank have tirelessly played, sang and stomped their own brand of independent roots music. At a live show they create a deep and sometimes raucous groove earned from years of touring through the big cities and small towns of America.
Star Tribune named Hobo Nephew's 2012 album Number One Contender "easily one of the best Minnesota-made albums of 2012." Hobo Nephew's forthcoming record, American Shuffle is produced by Ryan Young (Trampled By Turtles, Pert Near Sandstone) and will be released in May 2015 on Chaperone.

Vibrant country artist Hannah Bethel brings a whole lot of sass to country radio with the release of her single, You Wanna Be My Man, off her newest album Never Ending Sky.This upbeat, playful song is impacting radio and is on the newest CDX #612, which was just shipped.
This latest release has a sexy, pop-country vibe that stands out from Hannah’s previous folk roots. “I wrote this song with David Myhre a week before we went into the studio to record for Never Ending Sky,” says Hannah. “I loved the song immediately and knew I wanted to include it on the album.”
After her previous releases, No Where Left to Roam, Medicine and If I Don’t Love You Anymore, she has received great praise from radio and industry critics. Digital Rodeo said “Sometimes you just know, by the very first notes delivered, that an artist has that special sound and presence that stands out among so many others. Hannah was born to share her light through music.” MAVERICK said “Hannah shows that she has the vocal chops and writing talent to make it in country music.”
Never Ending Sky includes 8 songs which were written/co-written by Hannah and features top-notch musicians on the record including Adam Ollendorff (Kacey Musgrave’s pedal steel player) and Tim Horsley (played drums with Keith Urban, Gary Allen, Jamie O’Neal, etc). Finding a different creative outlet with this new project, she incorporates a mix of new and old sounds and styles from an array of musical icons, along with her own unique touch. She brings an organic taste to her eclectic approach to country music. Her influences include Fleetwood Mac, Miranda Lambert, and Willie Nelson.
Hailing from Northern Michigan, Hannah has spent the last year touring the United States, performing shows from Alaska to New Jersey and everywhere in between. She has shared the stage with such artists as Frankie Ballard, Canaan Smith, Charlie Worsham, Joe Nichols, Rodney Atkins, Trisha Yearwood and Buddy Jewell.
