July, 2018 - “THE WILLOWS” is the new single from Connecticut Americana/Country Musician and Songwriter Jeff Przech. “THE WILLOWS” is the second release from Przech’s “JEFF PRZECH & THE OUTFIT” record and the first with an accompanying video. “THE WILLOWS,” like all the songs on the album, illustrate what Eric Danton (WSJ/Rolling Stone/Paste) called a “winsome world-weary sensibility,” and feature Przech’s “pleasantly worn-in voice on songs cut from enduring alt-country cloth.” “THE WILLOWS” is the lone acoustic number on the album, highlighting Przech’s weighty baritone and acoustic guitar.
WATCH “THE WILLOWS” VIDEO HERE A native of Hartford, Connecticut, now calling Unionville, CT home, Jeff Przech (pronounced 'Presh') was called “as Americana as they come” by Chip McCabe of Lonesome Noise. Przech's music offers a different geographical take on the genre while still maintaining the characteristics of modern Americana music. Przech favors the narrative style of lyricism shown by modern artists like Jason Isbell as well as legendary artists like Kris Kristofferson, who Przech cites as his biggest influence. Przech is touring this summer to support both the new song and the album as a whole, hitting the Pacific Northwest in late July and the Mid-Atlantic area in August. Like “THE WILLOWS” Przech’s shows will be solo acoustic, as the songs were written, enabling him to connect with audiences on a more intimate level.

In May, Low Cut Connie released their critically-acclaimed fifth studio album Dirty Pictures (Part 2) that was recently named one of Rolling Stone's 50 Best Albums of 2018 so far. In his four-star review, David Fricke called the record "a stand-alone triumph of missionary zeal." The band just announced a fall headline tour which includes stops in Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., New Orleans, Dallas and more. They've also released the music video for their single "Oh Suzanne", directed by Remy Holwick. The release also received two Grammy® nominations, and the band won four Austin Chronicle awards for the album. Produced by the band with Julian Raymond (Cheap Trick, Sugarland, LP), All the Pain Money Can Buy also delivered the second single, “Fire Escape,” as well as the Top 20 single “Out of My Head” (whose chorus was recently reinterpreted in “Bad Things” by Machine Gun Kelly & Camilla Cabello) while also including a track with Poe (whose Hello was certified Gold in 1996). Watch "What'll I Do" HERE AUSTIN, Texas — Austin singer-songwriters Rebecca Loebe, Grace Pettis and BettySoo have each performed for years at Texas’ beloved Kerrville Folk Festival; in fact, that’s where they met and quickly bonded in 2008, the year BettySoo become a New Folk Competition winner. By 2011, all three had earned that honor. But even though they’re all Star Trek-loving sci-fi fans, they never dreamed that if they fast-forwarded to 2018, they’d wind up beaming onto a Kerrville stage as a hot new tight-harmony trio called Nobody’s Girl. A trio that had signed a record deal, recorded an EP, Waterline, and launched a tour before its members had even picked a name. Still a bit dazed by this warp-speed chain of events, Pettis explains, “Most bands write a bunch of songs, jam in a garage for months or years, start playing local gigs, go on their first tour, and then maybe make an album.” Nashville, TN – Memphis rock/alt country quintet Lucero has announced 2018 fall tour dates in support of their upcoming album Among the Ghosts, which releases on August 3rd via Liberty & Lament/Thirty Tigers. The anticipated new album has already received positive responses, including early coverage from Billboard, Garden & Gun, and Brooklyn Vegan, with more to come. American Songwriter posted an exclusive premiere of Lucero’s new track “Cover Me”. Click HERE to listen. On August 24, Ryan Culwell returns with The Last American, his third full-length album and first release in more than three years. The collection marks his debut on Missing Piece Records and captures Culwell at his finest as he crafts poignant portraits of ordinary Americans just trying to get by in these trying times. Today, Culwell released the album's title track. Stream "The Last American" via YouTube: https://youtu.be/c_bAXTehhrI "Think of my record, The Last American, as a letter to a loved one who is hurting," explains Culwell. "I speak love, encouragement, direction, warnings and hope. This is how I speak to those I love most. Some of the songs were literally written to my daughters and we sing them before bed. The title track says the things a friend might say in a time of need… to carefully pull the festering splinter from a swollen palm. If you love America, this song is for you." On Friday, Sept. 14, Asleep at the Wheel will release 'New Routes,' (Thirty Tigers) its first new material in over a decade, embarking on a new chapter in the group's 48 year history with a fresh group of musicians and nimble musical palette. The 11-track collection of both new and familiar country, jazz, jump blues, rockabilly, Western Swing and folk, offers a blend of originals, vibrant covers, superior musicianship, and a guest vocal appearance by Seth and Scott Avett of The Avett Brothers. Comprised of founder/leader Ray Benson (lead guitar and vocals), Katie Shore (fiddle and vocals), Eddie Rivers (steel and sax), David Sanger (drums), Dennis Ludiker (fiddle, mandolin, vocals), Josh Hoag (bass), Connor Forsyth (piano and vocals), and Jay Reynolds (sax and clarinet), Asleep at the Wheel's performance agility takes centerstage on the record. 'New Routes' travels down myriad musical byways from the sly "viper" jazz groove of the album's opener, "Jack, I'm Mellow" to the languid original ballad, "Call It A Day Tonight;" the Cajun romp of "Pass the Bottle Around" to the Americana-tinged acoustic cover of Guy Clark's "Dublin Blues;" and the pedal-to-the-metal covers of Paolo Nutini's "Pencil Full of Lead" and Moon Mullican's "Seven Nights To Rock." Nashville, TN – June 29, 2018 - Georgia-based singer/songwriter Corey Smith shows off his sentimental side with the release of his new song “Halfway Home” from his unfolding project, the Great Wide Underground. On the heels of his middle-finger-waving single, "Empty Rooms," “Halfway Home” makes a 180 degree turn and dives into the struggle of being a full time touring artist, husband, and father of two. With touching lyrics and a production that sounds like a Sunday drive, "Halfway Home" is now available at smarturl.it/CSHalfwayHome. This might seem like my choice to you But leaving’s something that your dad has gotta do And it’s nothing we can’t make it through “In my experience, I’ve found that the most meaningful songs are usually the easiest ones to write,” says Smith. “They reveal themselves quickly, as if the words are there waiting to be given voice. Creating them feels more like remembering than inventing and their completion comes with a powerful sense of euphoria, as if a weight has been lifted. That’s how “Halfway Home” was. It was the easiest song I’ve written in a long time and, not coincidentally, it’s a song that will mean a great deal to me and my family for years to come. Now that it’s out in the world, I sincerely hope others find meaning in it as well.” |
