Campers spent last week in Nashville with several country artists, writing, recording, and performing their song "Bright Eyes." They rounded out the week with a special acoustic performance from singer-songwriter JT Hodges. Hodges is so grateful for the experience sharing, "This has been an amazing experience for me... I want to say, more so than them 'cause this is such an incredible thing and those kids have so much love in them...I'm kind of overwhelmed right now, this was an amazing experience." JT played a few songs for the campers before leading them into a rousing rendition of "Lean on Me". Campers made the most of this fun opportunity by singing and dancing along! This heart warming moment was captured on camera for fans to enjoy! You can watch the "Lean on Me" Sing-a-long HERE. "Already High" on iTunes VEVO

Casey Donahew revs up the engine on a vintage Mustang and lets those horses run in the brand new clip for his latest single, “Lovin’ Out Of Control,” which is already rapidly making its way up the Texas country charts. The tune is a fun-filled romp down memory lane as a man fondly recalls the one who got away with his heart in this modern-day love song. The band has been hard at work on a brand new live CD, due out later this year, and continues to tour heavily throughout the Mid-west and Southwest. Casey will hit the road in September for a Fall tour with Josh Abbott and joins Kevin Fowler in November and December. You can watch the video for "Lovin' Out of Control" here. Whiskey Myers premiered their new video for their current single, "Dogwood," today. A little nostalgic and a little sad, the video looks at young love and it's unhappy ending. You can watch the video here. Will Hoge is currently on tour in support of his latest album Never Give In (while already hard at work on his next one). He and his band will be making stops in over 25 cities, including NYC, until November. Will has had a busy year performing on David Letterman and at CMA Fest, where crowds of people spilled out of the seating area into the adjacent streets of downtown Nashville for his set. Sweeney has teamed up with Thirty Tigers to release her third album on August 5, 2014 with SiriusXM’s “The Highway” already championing the lead single “Bad Girl Phase.” The album, produced by Luke Wooten, (Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler and more), tracks Sweeney’s coming to terms with the mistakes she has made and the recovery that the last few years have brought her. “The album is a journey from nearly hitting bottom and losing everything personally to regaining my footing and being able to find not only my true self again, but real happiness,” Sweeney reveals. The Texas native who is known for her honest, first-hand accounts comes to this album with new perspectives yet the same honest grit, resulting in new refreshing and vulnerable stories to tell. “My fans recognize that this is something different, and they recognize that I’m writing about the truth. They’ve been through a lot with me, and they’ve seen me in both good places and bad, and the feedback I’m getting from them now is that they feel like this is the real me again. The album embodies the same mix of toughness and vulnerability that appealed to so many fans of Sweeney’s first two albums, but with an added level of tested-by-fire resilience that deepens the music’s emotional resonance. The songs range from the heart-on-sleeve honesty of “My Bed,” “Uninvited” and “Sunday Dress” to the raucous barroom rave-ups of “You Don’t Know Your Husband” and “Everybody Else Can,” and follow Sweeney’s turbulent and unabashedly personal roller coaster ride from reckless abandon (“Bad Girl Phase”; co-written by Brandy Clark) to yearning (“Find Me”) to candid self-reflection (“Second Guessing”) to the bittersweet defeat (“Carolina on the Line”) to, finally, the healing embrace of happiness (“Used Cars”). Having self-funded the album with the help of her fans via PledgeMusic, Sweeney is also excited to introduce a charitable element with the new release. A portion of the album’s sales will go to one of Sweeney’s most adored non-profits, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). “I have been unbelievably blessed in my life, and I know that I owe a lot of that to my upbringing to the Northeast Texas community—a place I’m proud to call home. I hope that others will be inspired, or rather invoked, to also pay it forward.” PROVOKED track listing and songwriter information: 1. The testimony pertained to illegal music downloading and music licensing. In a statement she said, “I am honored to have been asked by the Americana Music Association to represent musicians, songwriters and recording artists in these hearings. As a singer-songwriter who has been in the music business for 35 years, I look forward to sharing with Washington leaders some of the deep concerns all musicians share in the new digital economy. Creative people deserve fair compensation when their work is used by others.” You can read a transcript of her testimony here. Little Big Town released the video for their new single "Day Drinking" exclusively to PEOPLE Country today, June 25th. "We had a lot of fun shooting the video," singer Phillip Sweet tells PEOPLE. "It captured the spirit and energy of the song." You can watch the video here. Little Big Town's album, Painkiller, will be released this fall. Scotland born folk singer-songwriter Colin Clyne, a versatile acoustic artist as comfortable spinning off an upbeat folk ditty as a heartrending dose of roots melancholy, returns this summer with excellent single "Merry Go Round," taken from album The Never Ending Pageant. The single, a straight, driving example of how to write an acoustic folk track with true momentum and subtle harmonies, mixes Clyne’s Scottish folk heritage with a touch of Americana in the vocal arrangements – thanks perhaps to 10 years spent living in California. It’s the first song from the new LP, both released through Colin’s hometown label Fat Hippy Records, a burgeoning independent label. The album was produced & Engineered by Grammy Award Winning Engineer Alan Sanderson (The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Burt Bacharach). You can hear the first single here: https://soundcloud.com/colinclyne/merry-go-round-1 It’s not difficult to see why his fans include influential new music tastemakers such as Jim Gellatly, John McRuvie, STV and Chris Hawkins of BBC 6 Music – the reflection of an impressive independent career that has seen Clyne support The Red Hot Chilli Pipers (internationally acclaimed Scottish touring band) at a Hogmanay gig in front of 6,000 people, as well as appearing at Belladrum Festival, Edinburgh Festival, The Viper Room in L.A, and the Sacramento Highland Games which boasts over 20,000 people. Another highlight saw him crowned ‘Best Acoustic Act’ at the San Diego Music Awards in 2011 and 2012 (previously winners include Jewel and Jason Mraz), as well as being named by NBC San Diego as one of San Diego’s top 12 Singer songwriters. That particular list contained an elite list of names, including Jewel, Tom Waits and the late Jim Croce. It marks an incredible career trajectory for an artist whose first cd was rehearsed and written in the cold store of a ship that he used to work in many years ago. In fact, the lifelong ship worker still does stints at sea from time to time, enjoying the time and space as good song writing inspiration. All very impressive from an artist who, having severed his fingers in his teens having hardly learned a chord, didn’t touch a guitar again until he was 23. The single "Merry Go Round" will be released June 30th and the album, The Never Ending Pageant, will be out July 21st. www.colinclyne.com www.facebook.com/c0linclyne www.twitter.com/colinclyne www.reverbnation.com/colinclyne www.soundcloud.com/colinclyne |
