Nashville, TENN (Press Release) --- Fiddle fanciers will delight in the opportunity to support great music and education with an online crowdsourcing campaign launched by Annie Savage and The Savage Hearts band. Interested supporters can check out the Kickstarter campaign here. Those who support the campaign can earn rewards including Annie’s Savage Fiddler Method Book, educational opportunities, CDs and more. It may be a young band, but members of The Savage Hearts have recorded, performed and produced more than 30 albums. Headed up by fiddler and instructor, Annie Savage, [pictured], the band is making plans for an album featuring students and professionals, “playing it forward together” in one studio, and all flavored with the spicy southwestern bluegrass sound for which The Savage Hearts are becoming known. In advance of Randy Rogers Band's favorite holiday, the six-piece has compiled a patriotic playlist that embodies the spirit of their collective tastes and festive jams for the long weekend. The tunes range from Willie Nelson classics to Bruce Springsteen anthems, Jimmy Buffett beach jams to Tom Petty staples, and everything in-between. For a listen, here's a link to the Spotify playlist: bit.ly/RRB_USAplaylist The group had some fun picking their favorites, as guitarist Geoffrey Hill says, "'Cheeseburger in Paradise' might not be specifically American, but there's nothing more American than grillin up some burgers. And, just like Buffet, I like mine with lettuce and tomato." As a member of the three-time Grammy-nominated group, the Grascals, Benson has proven herself a polished artisan of complex compositions. The new solo project is a mosaic of original instrumentals that may be called progressive, and the classic driving Bluegrass style for which she has become known as a member of the multi-award winning Grascals. “I've always thought of a solo project as a musical snapshot,” Kristin says. “It shows how you've grown and reflects your musical interests at the time. My last banjo record was called Second Season and was released in 2009, so it is certainly time for a new snapshot.” Tennessee country rock troubadour Charlie Bonnet III has released a brand new single and music video, titled 'Simple Shoes,' taken from his recent solo album, A Hotel In Valdosta. Closing in on three decades in the trenches of the music business, Charlie Bonnet III is a working man's songwriter, with an ability adapt and survive in the always changing industry. He first landed on the national radar in the early 90's as the frontman for the Nashville based rock band, Disarray, releasing five studio albums, and logging thousands of road miles in an old van. Between tours, Bonnet found himself in survival mode, playing in bar bands and doing solo acoustic shows to pay the bills. "I figured I could either go work construction, or broaden my horizons a bit and try to make a living with a guitar in my hand," he reflects. Having an open mind to other styles led to steady studio and live work, including a stint as lead guitarist for A&E reality star and Warner Brothers recording artist Big Smo, as well as a four year run as co-founder, singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of Average Joes recording act, Moccasin Creek. The modern day Charlie Bonnet III writes and performs blues based country rock, with a real message. "I feel like a lot of the established songwriters these days are wasting their talent writing dance club garbage," he states. "The whole message to the 'Simple Shoes' song is that fame, money, and success are very temporary and fleeting things. Spending time with the kids is way more important." The video for 'Simple Shoes' can be viewed here: CHARLIE BONNET III - Simple Shoes - OFFICIAL VIDEO Cereus Bright are excited to share the second single off their forthcoming debut album, Excuses, due out July 29th. The track, “American Dream,” is premiering on Consequence of Sound today, who praise the song’s “honeyed harmonies and cheery acoustic guitar” that augment its sober message. Far from reflecting a gauzy view of the United States, the band shares that the song was inspired by debunking the myth of the “American Dream” and that “writing this song was a way for us to vent some of our frustration.” Excuses was produced by the Knoxville band’s own Evan Ford and mixed by Tom Schick (Wilco, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals, Beck) at Wilco’s Chicago Studio, creating a powerful, unique, and expansive sound. At the moment, Cereus Bright is on a national “Closeup” tour, a series of hand-crafted dates across the United States where they are bringing their songs to life in intimate spaces and venues. Recorded with producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell), 'Mud' is a reclamation of the swagger of Lyrnyrd Skynyrd and Black Sabbath-style riffage, buoyed by flourishes of shivering gospel organ, exuberant brass, and fiery fiddles. 'Mud' standout track "Lightning Bugs And Rain" just premiered via Rolling Stone Country, listen here: http://rol.st/291M9UX 'Mud' is a natural extension of the band's raucous live sound and their dedicated approach to songcraft, from the ominous backroads buildup of album opener "On The River" to the screaming guitars on the Rich Robinson (Black Crowes) co-write "Frogman," a desert-rock blues told from the perspective of a Navy SEAL missing the comforts of his southern home. Lead singer Cody Cannon emerges as a startlingly versatile songwriter, equally adept at writing a rollicking tribute to the country gateway drug that is Hank Williams ("Hank") or a stately piano ballad that climaxes in a smoking hot twin guitar solo ("Stone"). And "Trailer We Call Home" proves Cannon has a gift for painting a portrait of working class struggles and the redemptive power of home. LOS ANGELES, Calif.
