​NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Texas Country Rocker Cameran Nelson will be sharing the stage with The Underdog Aaron Watson for a special performance at City Limits in Stephenville, TX on Friday, September 23 during the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo. Nelson's latest single, "Little That We're Livin' On," celebrates over twenty weeks of climbing the Texas Regional Radio charts, becoming his fifth #1 single.

While on tour last fall, the esteemed singer-songwriter released the album Good Thing Going, which includes other chart-toppers "SHOTGUN," "You Can Still Wear White," and sexy, feel-good song "Nothing's Got Nothin'." The project also includes collaborative work with Texas Country's cheeky crooner, Kevin Fowler, on "Beer Lease."

(Press Release) The Americana Music Association is proud to announce this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. Six honorees will be celebrated during Americana’s 15th Annual Honors & Awards show to be held at the historic Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday, September 21.

The show officially kicks off the 17th Annual Americana Music Festival & Conference taking place in Nashville, September 20-25.

"This year's Lifetime Achievement recipients have inspired us through their culture-shaping music and art for years. It'll be nothing short of an honor to welcome them to the Ryman stage in September," says Jed Hilly, Americana Music's Executive Director. ​

(Press Release) Katie Buxton is an indie folk singer/songwriter originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and now based out of Nashville, Tennessee. At age twelve, Katie picked up the guitar and wrote her first song, and since then has had experience with bands and songwriting in multiple genres. In 2012, she was chosen as a finalist in the Sing for the Trees Songwriting Contest with her song “The World Moves By”. In the summer of 2013, Katie attended the Berklee Five Week Performance Program where she was a finalist in the Songwriting Showcase and received mentorship from Melissa Ferrick and Sally Taylor, daughter of James Taylor. 

After moving to Nashville to attend Belmont University as a songwriting major, Katie was invited to join Bear House Writers Management and was one of eight to play in the ASCAP Writers Showcase in the fall of 2015. Adding to her songwriting accomplishments, she was later chosen as a finalist in the 2016 American Songwriting Awards with her song "Painted Hearts". 

Katie’s debut EP “From Songbirds” was released in March of 2016. Her new single "You Flew" was recorded and mixed by Sal Oliveri and mastered by Luke Gilfeather. As for the meaning of the song, Katie explains "The song is about caring deeply for someone who is not ready to love or be loved and runs out of fear, and focuses especially on the process of learning to let go". "You Flew" is now available on Soundcloud, Itunes and all streaming services. 

Two-time Juno award-winning Canadian Americana singer-songwriter Jenny Whiteley returns with an all new album, The Original Jenny Whiteley, due September 16th. The ten songs in the collection pay homage to Jenny’s musical heritage and range from folk and blues to bluegrass, jug band, and early jazz and include traditional songs mixed with originals that are filled with roots instrumentation including banjo, guitar, harmonica, fiddle, and jaw harp.

Jenny learned some of the tunes on The Original Jenny Whiteley directly from performing with her dad and uncle (in The Original Sloth Band and the Junior Jug Band), such as “Stealin’ Stealin’”, “Morning Blues” and “Things Are Coming My Way” (featuring Chris and Ken Whiteley on vocals). The album also showcases other traditional songs Jenny has added to her repertoire over the years, including “Oxford Town”, “In the Pines” and “Groundhog”. In addition, there are new songs Jenny brings in response to the tradition they work in: "$100" by Chris Coole is a valentine to the working musician; “Malade” is Jenny's take on an American-style jug band song (performed in French), while “Banjo Girl” (co-written by her husband Joey Wright) and “Higher Learning” are odes to Jenny’s old-time and jazz heroes.

The sessions were all recorded at Hugh Christopher Brown's Wolfe Island Post Office Studio, with producer-musician Sam Allison and Teillard Frost (Sheesham and Lotus). "It was the most natural, organic, live recording I've ever been part of," Whiteley recalls. "The boys were full of ideas and great energy...we just picked and sang into the wee hours until we got it right."

NASHVILLE, Tenn.
