February 5, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – With his last album earning recognition from both The JUNO Awards and the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards for Country Album of the Year in 2014, nine-time CCMA Award winner and three-time JUNO Award nominee Dean Brody has announced the release date for his 5th studio album. Available for pre-order from Open Road Recordings on March 24, Brody’s upcoming album will be delivered to fans across North America on April 21, 2015. As the album’s first single, “Upside Down,” takes over the Canadian airwaves on February 9, fans will instantly know that the wait has been worth it. Reminiscent of earlier favourites “Roll That Barrel Out" and "Old Joe Riley,” Brody knew instantly that “Upside Down” was the best introduction to the new material. “Making a new record is always about pushing boundaries and having fun,” said Brody. “This song is all about having a good time which is exactly what we did when making this record.” To challenge himself in new ways, Brody composed three of the album’s ten tracks on instruments he had never played before. The result was a record, whose title will be announced first to fans via social media later this spring, that is a perfect combination of both the East and West Coast. Having grown up in the mountains and now living on the ocean, Brody proudly admits that this costal inspiration runs through all of his work. Album five definitely proves this as itdelivers, without question, the carefree nature of summers on the ocean and the feeling of freedom found in roaming through the Rockies. A self-proclaimed storyteller, Brody lives for fan feedback. Thankfully, this full-length provides many opportunities for that. From what is sure to be a fan favorite, “Sweet Lola” (tagged by Brody himself as a sequel to the chart-topping “Bounty”) to the upbeat drive of “Bring Down The House” and the heartfelt spirit of “Footprints Of A Giant” – an emotional song written in the hours after the parliament events in Ottawa last October – it’s clear that what has been delivered is an album that will satiate. With the video for “Upside Down” set to premiere in mid-February, it won’t be long before Canada gets to spend more time with the award-winning Dean Brody as a national tour will be announced later this spring. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned via Facebook and Twitter for album and tour announcements. For more information on Dean Brody, his new album and upcoming tour dates, visit www.deanbrody.com. After concluding 2014 with countless accolades from some of music’s toughest critics, country songstress Sunny Sweeney is back with what just could be one of her most gut-wrenching ballads yet. A duet with GRAMMY-nominated artist Will Hoge, “My Bed” tells the story of a couple just going through the motions, sleeping in the same bed but not knowing a thing about one another anymore. Written alongside Pistol Annies members Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, “My Bed” once again shows Sweeney at her very finest and serves as a worthy follow-up to her 2014 hit “Bad Girl Phase”, which landed on Rolling Stone’s “25 Best Country Songs of 2014.” It also serves as another impressive cut on the Texas native’s latest album “PROVOKED”, in which The Washington Post says Sweeney “proved that she still belongs alongside Miranda Lambert and Gretchen Wilson on Nashville’s A-list of no-guff-takers,” and was heralded as the No. 9 Country Album of 2014 by Rolling Stone. Not only has Sweeney been making waves with her critically acclaimed music, lately Sweeney’s acts of patriotism have been making headlines as well. In Oct. 2014, Sweeney showed her appreciation for those serving overseas by posting a photo on Facebook of a man praying over a soldier, which Sweeney witnessed in the Las Vegas airport en route to a gig. The post went viral, landing on Buzzfeed’s “Top 50 Facebook Shares of 2014” and reaching the soldier, himself. A few months later, Sweeney once again took to social media to help find the owners of an Iraq war Army veteran’s ring that one of her family members found in Natchez, Mississippi. Sweeney was successful in finding the ring’s owner, explaining that she was ecstatic to hear from the veteran’s fiancé. She told Fox News, “[The veteran] messaged me and he was like, 'You don't even understand. In two days, it's the 10 year anniversary of my ship date to Iraq.' And the day they got the ring in the mail, was his exact ship date," said Sweeney. "I'm not all earthy and stuff, but you really truly can't write that stuff." Sweeney, who is married to an Austin City police officer, is a large supporter of law enforcement and the troops and says she strives to do whatever she can to provide support for those who fight for our country.
