Nashville, TENN (PR)--- Central North Carolina band, Swift Creek is set to release Magnolia, a collection of original Bluegrass and Americana music, on April 8th. The album consists of truly original tunes penned primarily by band member, Kevin Brown. The album was produced and recorded at the Rubber Room in Chapel Hill, NC by acclaimed producer and musician, Jerry Brown. The album is available to radio from Airplay Direct. Fans can obtain Swift Creek’s music from the band website and online retailers, like iTunes. Magnolia includes two songs that have been shared via video. "Rattle Them Bones," written by Kevin Brown, is a bluesy, mysterious tune that takes us to old New Orleans. Both music and subject matter summon up images of graveyards, dark closets, eerie midnights and "things unseen and things unknown." The video shows the band having a blast at the Rubber Room while recording the song.

Nashville, TN (April 4, 2016 PR) - Maiden Dixie has released the thought provoking video for "The Whiskey'll Miss Me," the first single release from Wrecked. "This isn't your happy- go-lucky drinking beer on a tailgate at a bonfire music video. The song, written by Channing and Jon along with Graham Becker, is a tough look at the dark side of the drinking game. It has affected all of our lives in some way and in the video we explore lyrically and visually how that can end up. We really hope that this expands the awareness of addiction problems and we encourage people to either get help or to help loved ones that need it," says the band's Andrew Sherman. Peter Doucette (who also directed the music video for the band's punk alter ego Mayden Dixie that splashed across social media on April 1) directed the video. The single is available on iTunes beginning Tuesday, April 5, with the full EP set for a digital release on April 22. Maiden Dixie officially launched the Wrecked Tour 2016 this past Saturday at the Rock'n Bac'n Brew'n in Spencer, IA. (Press Release)— Omnivore Recordings will release expanded reissues of two turn-of-the-century Grammy Award-winning albums by the Blind Boys of Alabama: Spirit of the Century and Higher Ground. Street date for the CD and digital editions is May 13, 2016. Formed in 1944, the Blind Boys of Alabama have been trendsetters musically, socially and spiritually. At the dawn of the 21st Century, almost 60 years into their career, one would think the Blind Boys had nothing more to prove. However, 2001’s Spirit of the Century not only showed how relevant they still were, but how they could continue to reinvent the genre they helped bring to the mainstream, and to win their first Grammy while doing it. (April 1, 2016 Press Release) Singer, songwriter and former member of pop 90’s duo M2M, Marit Larsen, releases her EP, Joni was right, today via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and all other digital service providers! Recorded on the Faroe Islands and self-produced by Marit, this project is a departure from her pop records. While staying true her artistic storytelling abilities, she takes on a new approach and strips down the layers to fully embrace the folk sound. The EP is available at links below: iTunes: http://smarturl.it/jwritunes Amazon: http://smarturl.it/jwramzn Spotify: http://smarturl.it/maritlarsenspotify As a teen, Marit’s good friend gave her Joni's albums (Blue, Court and Spark, Ladies of the Canyon) and she was never the same again. Through the natural rollercoaster of life, they have been the soundtracks of her journey. To Marit, Joni’s lyrics unfolded like the advice of an older sister, trying to guide her down the right path. With Joni’s help, however, Marit learned that we all continue to make our own decisions, and have to learn the tough lessons ourselves. Come to find out, in the end, Joni was right. This EP is the debut release on Marit's very own label, Håndbrygg Records (translating to “hand brew” records). She is an avid coffee connoisseur! And how she brews her coffee, is how she brews her records, with lots of love. “Starting this label has been a long time coming. One of the biggest changes in this new life is that I’ll be able to release music how and when I want to, meaning more frequent releases and being able to release my records worldwide simultaneously. Geo blocking simply does not belong on 2016.” says Marit on why she wanted to launch Håndbrygg Records. maritlarsen.com instagram.com/larsenmarit facebook.com/MaritLarsen twitter.com/larsenmarit youtube.com/user/maritlarsen Marit Larsen on Spotify "With a fearless approach to music, the group doesn't follow traditional rules of genre, pulling inspiration from blues to reggae, Americana to gospel, to make a sound that is effortless and beautiful." - Guitar World Nashville, TN (Press Release) - Dynamic Philadelphia band The Lawsuits will release Moon Son on May 13th via Randm Records. View the album trailer HERE. The band's second full length album features 11 songs of melodic rock and groove with expressive pop vivacity through lyrics that balance darkness with light. Spiraling with guitar, keys and synth, the album is an atmospheric journey. The trade-off of charismatic and soulful vocals between dual lead singers Brian Dale Allen Strouse and Vanessa Winters ensures an experience without a dull moment. Supported by layers of lush multi-instrumention, The Lawsuits embody a uniqueness that is difficult to pin to a single characterization. With the release of the band's first full length album Cool, Cool, Cool (produced by Bill Moritary, known for his work with Dr. Dog and Man Man), praise rolled in from Rolling Stone, SPIN, Baeble, Paste Magazine, WXPN and Daytrotter, among many others. They quickly established a reputation as a must-see live act, sharing stages with The Vaccines, Delta Spirit and Lake Street Dive while making a debut appearances at WXPN's XPoNential Music Festival and Philadelphia Folk Festival. The Lawsuits formed after Strouse (vox, guitar, keys, synth) met Winters (vox) and Brendan Cunningham (bass, synth) while attending Temple University. Soon after, drummer Josh Friedman and guitarist Joe Bisirri completed the quintet's current lineup. The band will be touring nonstop throughout the remainder of the year with a hometown celebration at The Foundry on April 29th. Blue Skies find Mountain Heart completely reinventing themselves without a single founding member. Frontman Josh Shilling is the only member previously featured on a Mountain Heart release with their final arrival, violinist Molly Cherryholmes (of 5-time Grammy-nominees Cherryholmes) joining just weeks before Blue Skies studio sessions were to begin. Jeff Partin, Aaron Ramsey, and Seth Taylor complete the new lineup. Rolling Stone Country premiered the title track from the album today, stating “Though no original members remain, the new Mountain Heart manages to straddle the line between complete reinvention and staying true to their roots - there’s a palpable electric current running through ‘Blue Skies,’ while still maintaining the relaxed, festival-ready pulse they’ve become known for over the course of more than a decade.” The band have also announced US tour dates kicking off April 7th in Richmond, KY. On June 25 and 26, New Jersey/New York fixture Joe D'Urso will present the third annual Rockland-Bergen Music Festival on the borders of Rockland and Bergen counties in Tappan, New York. The festival is now entering it's largest and most ambitious year yet with over 22 artists on two stages and 15 non-profit organizations to realize D'Urso's vision of a musical event that combines great music and important causes. Early bird tickets are currently on sale on at www.rocklandmusicfestival.com. Similar to last year, anyone born in the calendar year of 1966 will get in for FREE in celebration of their 50th birthday. Released on Free Dirt Records on February 5th, 2016, every song on Dori Freeman's debut album is an original, and each one a window to a young woman in modern Appalachia, caught between the past, present, and future of one of America’s most fertile musical regions. Freeman can slip easily into Nashville songwriting, doo-wop swing, anthemic soul, or neo-classic pop, as well as old-timey country or gospel blues. This kind of genre-bending would be impressive in any other young artist, but Freeman’s anchoring each of these excursions on two simple precepts: her stunningly beautiful voice and her deeply honest sense of songwriting. Dori Freeman’s debut album heralds the arrival of a major new name in Americana music, and she’s bringing it to New York City on April 5.
