 Waylon Speed, a four-piece alt country band hailing from Burlington, VT, will be playing Hill Country Live in Manhattan on May 29th. Formed in 2009, the band is comprised of Noah Crowther, Reverend Chad Hammaker, Kelly Ravin and Justin Crowther. The band has earned a loyal following through their energetic live shows, intelligent songwriting and unique fusion of honky-tonk and punk. The Washington Post has described their sound as "a cross between Metallica and The Lumineers," with an added "dash of Prince showmanship." The heart-touching ballad resonates with dreamers of all kinds and embraces the struggles and joys of being a dreamer. The song features a full string arrangement, which was composed by melvin MAESTRO lightford of Lightworks Muzik. Tritt wrote the song for the independent biopic film, As Dreamers Do, which he narrates. The film is based on the early life of Walt Disney. Tritt formed the label in 2012 and released his full length album The Calm After... Included on the album is a duet with Tritt’s daughter, Tyler Reese. The song, “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough,” is a cover of the 1980s pop hit. 2014 has already proven to be a busy year for the Marietta, Georgia native, who is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his music career. Earlier this year, Tritt filmed a live DVD from the Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tenn. which will be released later this year. Truly one of the highlights of CMA week, Darius Rucker's fifth annual "Darius and Friends" benefit concert will be held Monday, June 2, at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon. Proceeds from the concert will go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
On June 3rd, the Darius and Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament will take place. The new show will glitter with a platinum theme that includes a new signature stage design. Platinum will include several songs from the new album including “Automatic,” the title track and others. Hot on the heels of his third consecutive chart-topping hit “Goodnight Kiss," singer-songwriter Randy Houser will debut his new single, “Like A Cowboy,” on The Late Show with David Letterman tomorrow, May 14. The song, which Houser wrote with Brice Long, is the fourth release from his album How Country Feels and showcases his powerhouse vocals and expert craftsmanship.
Viewers can watch Houser’s performance on The Late Show with David Letterman tomorrow night, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET / 10:35 p.m. CT on the CBS Television Network. “Like A Cowboy” is one of seven tracks Houser co-wrote on How Country Feels, including “Goodnight Kiss,” which was his first No. 1 as a songwriter. In a recent interview with Billboard, Houser notes: “I kind of felt that musicians these days are a lot like an old cowboy. We go out and try to make our living. There's that picture of someone who has to go out and travel for a living, and comes home. [. . .] That's what [‘Like A Cowboy’] means to me." The single will officially be going for radio adds on Monday, May 19. Houser, who just scored a CMT Award nomination for Male Video of the Year with his video for the No. 1 smash "Runnin' Outta Moonlight," continues to perform headlining dates across the country. Country duo Small Town Pistols recently garnered attention as they made their way through Music City on a media blitz in support of their self-titled debut record. On May 13th, the music video for Small Town Pistols’ single “Colour Blind” will be featured as CMT.com’s Independence Day video. Country Weekly will feature the duo as the “Who’s New” artist for their May 19th issue, which will be on sale May 12. Also on May 19th, the pair will apprear on ZUUS Country in ZUUS’ “On The Rise” segment. "Colour Blind" was also recently featured as Heartland's "Rising Star" video during their Top 10 Countdown.
The musical pair recently introduced their music to the US with a whirlwind of private performances and a Nashville showcase. Small Town Pistols, made up of siblings Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson, spent the latter part of April in Nashville recording new music, preparing for their first local showcase and making their way through Music City on a media blitz. Prior to the duo’s successful showcase at Nashville’s The Rutledge, the duo played a string of exclusive office visits on music row, including a live performance and interview with WSM’s Bill Cody. MusicRow Magazine recently posted their thoughts on the duo, saying “They harmonize as only siblings can. Tyler takes the lead on the verse with her harmonizing, and Amanda sings lean on the choruses with him harmonizing. In either mode, they are sensational. Essential listening. That live musical event can now be experienced via the new multimedia package All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs & Voice of Gregg Allman which will be released on May 6th. Shot in high definition video with 5:1 Dolby sound, this one-DVD, two-CD package (also available in multiple format variations including Blu-Ray) captures the four-hour concert event in its entirety. The show features a diverse assortment of high-profile Allman admirers paying tribute to the iconic veteran rocker, delivering distinctive new performances of classic material drawn from his four and a half decades as a recording artist, encompassing his landmark work with the legendary Allman Brothers Band as well as his parallel solo career.
