A vinyl subscription service? As we travel back to the 1980s and 1990s, this vinyl lover says...yes, please! Drew Holcomb announced the launch of the "Magnolia Record Club" - a monthly vinyl subscription service. He writes in an email to fans, "It's like a Rock n Roll Book Club, but instead of books, a different vinyl record every month. We've been working on this for several months, and hope you'll consider joining the club & partaking in music I love each month. It makes a nice gift, for yourself or someone else... Tis the season." You can purchase 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions. Each comes with one (1) vinyl record per month as well as a note from Magnolia's curator, Drew Holcomb. To get an idea of the types of vinyl that will be sent, check out their Spotify playlist. Visit magnoliarecordclub.com for more info. (November 17, 2015 Press Release) — In early preparation for the “most wonderful time of the year,” country music’s newest and most explosive duo, Dave & Whitney (Chelsea Creek Entertainment), will introduce one of their favorite holiday tunes. The engaging pair is set to release its rendition of “Old Toy Trains”*(written and originally recorded by Roger Miller) in celebration of the season and as a special dedication to country music legend, Glen Campbell (who recorded the song early in his career; “Old Toy Trains” appears on his 1968 album entitled THE CHRISTMAS FEELING). “We have a genuine admiration and respect for the character and artistic talents of Glen Campbell,” state Dave and Whitney Campbell. “This song is simply beautiful and we’d like to dedicate this release to the work and impression that Glen Campbell has made on our lives and careers, and the lives of others, as he battles saddening health issues.” The track was recorded in the North Pole alongside producer Mike Miller. Dave & Whitney’s “Old Toy Trains” will be available via all major digital retail outlets beginning November 24, 2015. The dreamy, cradling holiday release, sprinkled with Dave & Whitney stardust, continues the momentum the duo has garnered since the release of its debut national EP entitled ALIBI. (Nashville, Tenn. – Nov. 16, 2015 Press Release) – In spirit of the holiday, The Cains have released a new seasonal song, titled “Merry Christmas To You.” The original, thoughtful ballad, which was written by Billy Lawson and Ed Hill, as well as produced by Billy Lawson, is about missing a loved one during the holiday season. Madison Cain commented, "When you think of Christmas songs, you think of joy, family and everything merry and bright. But for so many people, Christmas isn't perfect. Relationships have been severed and the most wonderful time of the year often brings its own sting. We hope this song encourages people to reach out, make the call they've been putting off, or write a letter—it’s never too late to say ‘I love you.’" The song is already available at digital outlets such as iTunes and Amazon and will be distributed to Country radio. NASHVILLE, TN (November 16, 2015 Press Release) – Kenny Rogers and country vocal sensation Home Free have partnered with Billboard.com for the exclusive worldwide video premiere of “Children, Go Where I Send Thee” today (11/16). Blending varying degrees of folk, rock, and alt- country, Laterzo is an artist who continues to create a unique style of song best described as American cowboy-rock. The spirit of the open road, the imagery of boundless landscapes and weathered travelers, the loping rhythms- as with Laterzo’s previous work, it’s all there in West Coast Sound. Laterzo spends a great deal of time supporting his indie albums on the DIY touring circuit both solo and with his band Buffalo Robe, covering various parts of the US, and across the Atlantic to Europe. The core of Buffalo Robe is Laterzo-- lead vox, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, harmonica; Jeff LeGore—bass, background vocals; Dan Wistrom- electric guitar, pedal steel, acoustic guitar, background vocals; and Ron Pak—drums. Along with this seasoned group on West Coast Sound, Laterzo included many guest musicians from the burgeoning Los Angeles Americana scene; Bret Jensen- electric guitar/ John Bird and Paul Inman- piano/ Rami Jaffee- B3 organ/ Jesse Greene- violin/ Rachel Dean, Jen Gibbons, Devon Rowland- background vocals and Justin Smith and Denny Weston, Jr adding drums. Co-produced by Jeff LeGore and Chris Laterzo, West Coast Sound is a culmination of a seasoned artist dedicated to the craft of songwriting. The title track, “West Coast Sound” kicks it off and was written by Laterzo after he came to terms with being an Angeleno. “Although my hometown is Denver and I still consider Colorado ‘home’, I also grew up in Brussels, Belgium and Boston, MA.” he laughs, “I now live in Los Angeles- and have for, oh my- how long did I say I was going to be here?” “Tumbleweed” is just that, a song about being on the road, rootless and where the wind takes you. “There ain’t no use in fixin’ To domesticate/ Or put a handle on a nomadic trait.” |
