Album Premiere: Katie Garibaldi Ushers in the Holidays with 'Home Sweet Christmas'

Songstress Katie Garibaldi will release her new Christmas album, Home Sweet Christmas, this Friday, December 1st, but today, TDC is proud to give you the exclusive premiere of the album that is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. 

The inspiration for Katie's album goes as far back as childhood. She explains, "I grew up singing Christmas music and as a kid my family and I would put on shows every year at my parents' house where I'd sing holiday songs while my mom accompanied on piano, and later on with my guitar. My parents have always made Christmastime a very special time of the year for me and my brother growing up and now, Christmas music still makes me feel at home. I've wanted to make a holiday album of my own after falling in love with the classics from an early age and being inspired by artists I grew up listening to who had holiday albums. I'm excited to have my own collection of Christmas songs to share now, and I hope Home Sweet Christmas is an album that people will be able to enjoy year round and keep the spirit of the holidays with them every month, not just December, that no matter when and where they listen to it, the songs give them a peaceful and joyful sense of coming home. "

Home Sweet Christmas includes a stirring rendition of "Silent Night," as well as eleven originals from the romantic opener, "Happy Married Christmas" to those that remind us of the true reason for the season including "Holy Spirit in My Heart" and the comforting "Safe and Warm." Katie says of the album,

"I've always wanted to write a Christmas themed album because I've been in love with Christmas music for as long as I can remember, but I was waiting for the inspiration to tell my own stories about the holiday. I didn't consciously set out to write a Christmas album this year, but the songs found me in the most natural way and it really feels like they've always been inside me and they were just waiting for the perfect time to be shared. I hope when people listen to Home Sweet Christmas, they'll feel a sense of coming back home and getting back in touch with the joy inside them that resonates with this special time of year."
