Today, ANDREW LEAHEY & THE HOMESTEAD return with a brand new single “Start the Dance,” the first song to be released since 2016’s Skyline in Central Time and the first from their upcoming LP We Came Here to Run.
An anthemic roots rocker penned by Leahey and featuring guitar work from Sadler Vaden (Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit), "Start the Dance" delivers a jolt of classic-minded rock and roll with nuanced storytelling around the all too familiar point in a relationship when you decide to plow ahead or pull the plug. Leahey says of the track, “We've been kicking off our shows with this one. To me, ‘Start the Dance’ is an American rock & roll anthem -- the sort of song you'd want to hear in your car, which remains my favorite place to listen to music. It's about the moment that pops up during any new relationship, where you have to decide if you're going to move forward or call it quits. It all comes down to that final line in the chorus – ‘Stop the running and start the dance.’ Or, in other words, ‘Let's stop spinning our wheels and start heading somewhere. Let's turn all of this running around -- this manic activity -- into art.’ In that way, it's something of a call-to-arms for this band, as well.” For more information visit: WEBSITE | FACEBOOK | TWITTER
