Live Oak, FL (Press Release)-- Suwannee Springfest celebrates twenty years of kicking off the spring festival season at the beautiful Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL on March 17-20, 2016. The festival is thrilled to announce a handful of additions including Brandi Carlile, Railroad Earth, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Habanero Honeys, The Applebutter Express, Steve Pruett, and Canary in the Coalmine. 

The already stellar line-up includes legendary headliner John Prine as well as lot of return favorites from over the years including The Del McCoury Band, Keller Williams Grateful Grass, The Infamous Stringdusters, Jeff Austin Band, The Larry Keel Experience, Donna the Buffalo, and Jim Lauderdale. Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers and Dave & Dave (of Trampled By Turtles) make their debut appearance at the fest!

After two fan-funded studio recordings and nearly four years touring the US as an independent act traversing the continent in a small VW hatchback, San Francisco-based Quiles & Cloud (Maria and Rory, respectively) have teamed up with GRAMMY-award-winning artist and producer Alison Brown for their latest album, BEYOND THE RAIN, to be releasedJanuary 29, 2016 on Compass Records. 

Human emotion and world strife play out as central themes throughout the new album. “We’re often drawn to songs with a bit of darkness in them,” says Cloud. “Topics like mortality and loss come up fairly often, but it’s not all bad. We always find a ray of sunlight in there somewhere. Like overcoming fear, or accepting the past and finding something worthwhile beyond the darkness. That’s kind of what the album title (Beyond The Rain) is all about.” 

With Beyond The Rain, Quiles & Cloud have marked a pivotal moment in their development as a group, demonstrating their continued ability to combine subtle precision with stark grit and creative exploration. Nashville, TN (Press Release)– Three-time Grammy Award winner Lucinda Williams has announced tour dates following theFebruary 5 release of her forthcoming album The Ghosts of Highway 20 (Highway 20/Thirty Tigers). The tour will kick off in Los Angeles on March 4 and will include a special five-night run at New York City’s City Winery March 13-18. 

Recorded in the middle of arguably the most prolific period of her nearly four-decade career, The Ghosts of Highway 20 is unlike any other Williams’ album. The narratives revolve around the 1500-mile Highway 20 (aka Interstate 20) that runs in part from Georgia to Texas. And for every one-hit wonder like the Amazing Rhythm Aces, there were one-shot never-weres such as Angel Oak and Deerfield. These acts, whose albums are hard to find for even the most dedicated thrift-store bin hunters, now get their belated time in the spotlight on Wayfaring Strangers: Cosmic American Music compilation, due out on Numero Group on March 18, 2016.

Cosmic American Music was the name Gram Parsons coined to describe the blend of rock, country and soul that he played in the Byrds, the Flying Burritos Brothers and on his own solo albums. Although widely acknowledged as the “Father of country-rock,” Parsons hated the term “country-rock.” As he once said, “We are playing roots music . . . It’s a form of love music, a binding type of music between people.” Cosmic American Music’s eclectic lineup of unknown performers might not have strictly followed Parsons’ musical path but they did share the heartfelt spirit behind his Cosmic American Music.

Teddy Thompson and acclaimed singer Kelly Jones will release their stunning harmony duet collaboration Little Windows on Cooking Vinyl April 1, 2016. 
 
Teddy and Kelly first sang together on a George Jones track at LA’s Club Largo in 2011. It was love at first note and not long after they embarked on a bi-coastal musical relationship (she in LA, he in NYC) writing the songs that would become Little Windows along with partner Bill DeMain. Inspired by the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly and Sam Cooke, the ten gorgeous songs that comprise this album explore the joy and sorrows of love and the vagaries of the human heart.
 
Teddy and Kelly have shared the lyric video for "I Thought That We Said Goodbye," the first single to be released from Little Windows. Writing in Rolling Stone, Stephen L. Betts called the album a collection of "sparkling pop gems and sobering country ballads" and said that "any of the album's 10 tracks could be mistaken for some long-lost sonic nugget from the Fifties or Sixties."

Willie Nelson's new album of pop standards, penned by America's legendary songwriting duo George and Ira Gershwin, follows the selection of Willie as the 2015 recipient of the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The first country artist ever to receive the distinguished Gershwin Prize, Willie Nelson was honored in November 2015 with a two-day celebration in Washington, DC, culminating in a star-studded tribute concert (scheduled for broadcast on PBS on January 15, 2016).
 
President Jimmy Carter, who was unable to attend the concert, wrote in a letter read by host Don Johnson to the crowd that Nelson's music has "enriched the lives of people far and wide for decades" and that the songwriter is truly worthy of this "prestigious and well-deserved award."
 
"To get a Gershwin award for anything is great but to get one for songwriting is especially great because Ira and George Gershwin were just fantastic writers. They wrote some of the greatest songs ever," said Willie Nelson in response to receiving the Gershwin Prize. "The Gershwin songs have been here for many many years. When I was just a small guy, I remember hearing all these great Gershwin songs and they'll be around forever because great music like that just does not go away.

Country singer-songwriter Rachele Lynae is back with a fiery new video for her latest single "Quicksand." In the video, which was filmed outside of Nashville and directed by Spencer Glover, former American Idol contestant Spencer Lloyd plays Lynae's love interest while her sister, Heather Cole, and several of her best friends make cameo appearances.
