NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May, 2016 PR) – Fans of country music hit-maker Mark Chesnutt will want to circle the date of July 8 on their calendar as the traditional-minded singer will release his fifteenth studio album that day, aptly titled Tradition Lives. Tradition Lives, his first disc of all-new material since 2010, was produced by Jimmy Ritchey -- someone that Chesnutt says is a crucial part of his sound, having worked with him for years. “He and I hooked up at a time when not a lot of people had a lot of faith in me anymore because I stayed 'country' when the industry was going the other way. I needed somebody like Jimmy who really believed in my kind of country music,” said Chesnutt.

The day was overcast with the threat of some rain looming, but Reckless Kelly's Celebrity Softball Jam went off without incident (except for a full body collision between Adam Odor and Kasey Studdard) this past Sunday, May 15th where once again, Willy Braun's One Hit Wonders emerged victorious over Cody Braun's Sultans of Sing, 8-2. While the competitive spirit was light, the game was heavy on "disorganized fun" and humor as Roger Clemens (in "fishing pants") joked this day was a definite bucket list item and Willy Braun refused advice from Clemens wondering "What does he know?" Randy Rogers made a fashion statement playing in jean shorts while William Clark Green was trendsetting on his own playing in cowboy boots. There were trike races (the Sultans can log one win for the day), silly string and water balloons, but also some standout plays in MVPs Addie Broyles and Kasey Studdard. Following the game, there was music on two stages for well over six hours. Things kicked off with Reckless Kelly and The Mastersons paying tribute to Prince with "Purple Rain" and were followed by Ray Benson, Muzzie Braun, and Kevin Fowler. Surprise participant Randy Rogers played a four song acoustic set while Midnight River Choir brought a terrific bluesy rock feel and Jamie Lin Wilson played alongside Kelly Mickwee, Cody Braun, and Wade Bowen. People floated in and out in front of the stages while children played in in the outfield and families set up blankets and settled down with snacks and drinks to listen to Shinyribs, Micky & The Motorcars, Kyle Park and many more before rounding out the night with the All-Star Jam. Proceeds from this year's Jam benefitted various youth sports leagues as well as The SIMS Foundation. For more information visit the RKCSJ official website and make plans to be there next year. DENVER (May, 2016 Press Release) – Award-winning folk-Americana artist Mary Beth Cross has released an eight-song bluegrass EP that celebrates the importance of home in the lives of average, everyday Americans. "Feels Like Home" includes original songs, as well as classics written and/or performed by legendary artists such as Paul Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Garry White, Van Morrison, George Gershwin, and Dubose Heyward. The recording spotlights Cross's soaring, pure-tone soprano vocals. It was produced by veteran banjoist Chris Pandolfi, who joins nationally respected musicians Jeremy Garrett on fiddle, Tyler Grant on guitar, and Adrian Engfer on bass. The EP is dedicated to her late nephew, Christopher Chmiel, who died unexpectedly in 2015. "My latest project includes cover songs that are part of the tapestry of my upbringing in Wisconsin, as well as originals that reflect my current home in Colorado," said Cross, whose last project, "Beyond Good and Evil", was named "2014 Folk-Country CD of the Year" by the National Traditional Country Music Association. "We went with less is more, taking an approach that feels live, acoustic, down-to-earth, and not too far from home. Good memories or sad memories are evoked by some of my favorite songs."
