Watch "Pardon Me" HERE (Nashville, Tenn. – June 23, 2017 Press Release) – Noah Guthrie, known for portraying Roderick Meeks on Fox’s hit TV show Glee, released his sophomore album, The Valley, today through The Orchard - Sony Music to all digital outlets globally as well as physically in North America and the U.K. The creation of The Valley was purely a “passion project” and, in turn, a direct result of Guthrie’s feverish fans and social media following who contributed more than the desired funding in order to bring this project into existence through Pledge Music. Braving and unearthing every emotion, from solitude and loneliness to understanding and purpose, that is encumbered in “the valley,” Guthrie wrote or co-wrote every track on the record with songwriters such as Matthew Perryman Jones, Amy Stroup, Rhett Shull, Michelle Raitzin, and Caroline Brooks. Los Angeles-based quintet The Eagle Rock Gospel Singers are preparing to release their new album, No Glory, on July 14, and TDC is proud to premiere the video for the title track. Highlighted by the group's harmonies, jazzy trumpet, and a sensational bluesy-gospel groove, "No Glory," a song about finding God in the country, uplifts and inspires. Will Wadsworth explains the story behind the song, "This song is about meeting up with God in northeastern Oklahoma. I was born in Tulsa, and I always go back there in my heart when LA freaks me out. It's about the physical beauty of that area and about how nature often inspires awe. It's really about paying homage to the artist behind it. The song aims to shed light on how there are a lot of counterfeit forms of love in the world, but genuine peace, hope, and joy are still real things to be received." "When I was young I met my God In a field of goldenrod. I don't belong in a big cold town. Can't hear my Lord in all that sound" The song is also the title track on the album and Wadsworth explains why it was a perfect choice, "This song has an overarching theme that essentially represents the meta-narrative of the album. The songs on the album are about turning away from empty promises that are laid out by the world and embracing a higher truth. That being said, this song encapsulates the essence of that thought." Completed in just a few takes, the video for the song is a performance piece that was filmed at their producer Matt Wignall's home studio which Will says "is called "Tackyland" and is decorated with a variety of things that look like they wouldn't sell at a garage sale. We love it there." The video captures an intense and spirited performance, something that can be found in their live shows. "I would say that we are a party gospel band that could be enjoyed on a Saturday night just as much as a Sunday morning. We aim to dance, stomp, clap, and shout with you until there's nothing left," says Wadsworth. As the summer approaches, the band is looking forward to playing for fans on the road. Will notes, "We are looking forward to the Wildwood Festival in Oregon. We're also playing some cool theaters like the Sunflower Theater in Cortez, Colorado and the Elks Theater in Prescott, Arizona. In addition to that, we'll be hitting Ophelia's in Denver, Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco, and a cool instrument museum in Phoenix. So, it'll be all across the board as far as venues go. Looking forward to it!" (Press Release) GRAMMY® Award winners, Cage The Elephant will release Unpeeled worldwide on July 28th via RCA Records. The new album was recorded over a series of intimate shows in cities including Los Angeles, Washington DC, Knoxville, and Nashville where the band performed in a stripped down arrangement with a string quartet and additional percussion. Unpeeled features twenty-one tracks: eighteen curated songs from their past four albums plus three reimagined versions of existing songs. Said frontman Matt Shultz about the inspiration behind the album: “Many times you’re adding sonic layers looking for something to hide behind, and what you don’t realize is that that vulnerability and that nakedness might be the most compelling and interesting thing about the song.” Preorder the album here. Today, Cage The Elephant premiere their music video for “Whole Wide World,” featured on Unpeeled, on Consequence Of Sound. The song, originally written and performed by Wreckless Eric, was re-imagined and recorded by the band at their sold-out, hometown show at the Ryman Auditorium and you can watch the live video here. Recently, Cage The Elephant appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers to perform the Unpeeled versions of “Whole Wide World” and “Too Late to Say Goodbye”. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Press Release) – Country Music Icon Kenny Rogers set the tone during The Nation We Build Together gala opening at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History last night. Performing in front of the gallery that houses The Star-Spangled Banner, the actual flag that inspired what is now the national anthem, Rogers sang his song “’Merica” illustrated with his photo images of the landscapes and people of “the land that I love…America.” The Nation We Build Together is a presentation of four exhibitions and interactive experiences that invite audiences to immerse themselves in the fundamental American stories, from the founding of the country, through today. The newly transformed second floor of the museum’s west wing opens June 28th. Following the six-song set, which also included “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town,” “Lucille,” “The Gambler,” “Islands In The Stream,” and “You Can’t Make Old Friends” to a capacity crowd of 600 guests, the museum acknowledged Rogers’ “unique contribution to American music.” The honor was presented by the museum’s director John Gray and Ambassador Nicholas Taubman, chairman of the museum’s board. The country ballad saluting our veterans will be featured in the patriotic musical score, which is synchronized to a dazzling 25-minute pyrotechnic display over the East River in New York City. A USO tour participant and longtime supporter of troops, Campbell was honored when Macy’s invited him to record “American Anthem” for the treasured 4th of July Fireworks spectacular. "It’s a privilege to have been chosen by Macy’s to sing this amazing song for their 4th of Julycelebration,” shared Campbell. “I hope my performance of ‘American Anthem’ shows our love and appreciation of America and those who risked their lives for this country.” Listen to "Nothing To Escape" HERE June 21, 2017 (Press Release) - Austin, TX-based folk/Americana group Fairbanks & the Lonesome Light have officially announced their new LP, Nothing to Escape, out August 25. Along with the announcement, the band shared the title track off their new record at No Depression, who called the single, "Certainly a stunner ... the pair has transformed hard-hitting prose into song." Erik Flores and Amelia Rose Logan's songs as Fairbanks & the Lonesome Light are like modern dime westerns—gritty exegeses that float elegantly on pedal steel as driven, electric, rocking country. Sometimes the detached hero and the despicable outlaw in their songs are one and the same. Looking back, principal songwriter Flores realized many of the songs on their new LP, Nothing To Escape, are about his old drinking habits. "I quit drinking a couple years ago,” he says, “right around the time we started making this record. That seems to be a big undercurrent." While Fairbanks & the Lonesome Light’s new album isn't overtly about sobriety, it’s often about the excesses that come along with addiction. |
