Los Angeles-based quintet The Eagle Rock Gospel Singers are preparing to release their new album, No Glory, on July 14, and TDC is proud to premiere the video for the title track. Highlighted by the group's harmonies, jazzy trumpet, and a sensational bluesy-gospel groove, "No Glory," a song about finding God in the country, uplifts and inspires. Will Wadsworth explains the story behind the song, "This song is about meeting up with God in northeastern Oklahoma. I was born in Tulsa, and I always go back there in my heart when LA freaks me out. It's about the physical beauty of that area and about how nature often inspires awe. It's really about paying homage to the artist behind it. The song aims to shed light on how there are a lot of counterfeit forms of love in the world, but genuine peace, hope, and joy are still real things to be received." "When I was young I met my God In a field of goldenrod. I don't belong in a big cold town. Can't hear my Lord in all that sound" The song is also the title track on the album and Wadsworth explains why it was a perfect choice, "This song has an overarching theme that essentially represents the meta-narrative of the album. The songs on the album are about turning away from empty promises that are laid out by the world and embracing a higher truth. That being said, this song encapsulates the essence of that thought." Completed in just a few takes, the video for the song is a performance piece that was filmed at their producer Matt Wignall's home studio which Will says "is called "Tackyland" and is decorated with a variety of things that look like they wouldn't sell at a garage sale. We love it there." The video captures an intense and spirited performance, something that can be found in their live shows. "I would say that we are a party gospel band that could be enjoyed on a Saturday night just as much as a Sunday morning. We aim to dance, stomp, clap, and shout with you until there's nothing left," says Wadsworth. As the summer approaches, the band is looking forward to playing for fans on the road. Will notes, "We are looking forward to the Wildwood Festival in Oregon. We're also playing some cool theaters like the Sunflower Theater in Cortez, Colorado and the Elks Theater in Prescott, Arizona. In addition to that, we'll be hitting Ophelia's in Denver, Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco, and a cool instrument museum in Phoenix. So, it'll be all across the board as far as venues go. Looking forward to it!" "No Glory" is currently available for purchase on all digital sales portals Pre-order the album, No Glory HERE For more information visit their official website HERE
