Entitled Ghost Town, the album was recorded in Nashville at Omnisound Studio with the help and guidance of well-known Nashville musician/producer Pat Severs and the collaboration of countless talented locals. The eight songs encapsulate Plett, who is a glittering bound of energy who holds your attention captive, blasts you across the room with her powerful voice and then slowly reels you in like a tractor beam, weaving her life experiences into the fabric of her craft with a laugh or with a tear. The Complete Chris Bell’s six LPs contains all the tracks released on Looking Forward: The Roots of Big Star and the deluxe I Am the Cosmos, plus a bonus LP with unheard 1975 interview, and an album by Bell’s Rock City. MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Press Release) — After co-founding Big Star,Chris Bell released only two tracks of new music during his lifetime — a 1978 single on the Car Records label run by Chris Stamey (The dB’s, Sneakers) titled “I Am the Cosmos” b/w “You and Your Sister.” He would lose his life in a car accident later that same year. However, those were not the only tracks Bell had recorded in his post-Big Star years. In 1974-1975, Bell worked in the famed Château D’Hérouville near Paris, France, and later recorded at both Shoe Studios and Ardent Studios in Memphis. Some of that material arrived in 1992 as I Am the Cosmos to great acclaim. An expanded 2009 release nearly doubled the track listing, adding alternate mixes, as well as some of Bell’s pre-Big Star recordings.  Singer, songwriter, and musician Billy Raffoul releases new song “Dark Four Door” today, July 14, on Interscope Records. “Dark Four Door” is the follow up to his debut single “Driver” which was released in May to rave reviews. “Dark Four Door” is available for streaming and digital download via all participating digital retailers.

Indie-folk/Americana artist and John Prine's long-time guitarist, Jason Wilber will release his new album, Reaction Time, on August 11th. For the second album in a row, Wilber worked with longtime friend, producer Paul Mahern, who has produced and engineered records by the likes of Iggy Pop, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and Okkervil River.

Sonically and in every other way, the intention on Just Like Medicine seems to keep things real. “We recorded this album in mono, to analog tape, primarily to two tracks and we never used more than sixteen tracks,” says Croce. “We did that not to be cool or trendy, but because these days everyone seems to be listening to music primarily on little devices and tiny speakers. In a world of amazing audio possibilities, we’re all basically listening to music on transistor radios again. After that first session, Dan explained that when he worked with the Box Tops, they only had like three tracks — one for the band, one for the vocals, one for string and horns.
