Don Sticksel, host of The Both Kinds of Music Show, is getting out the vote for the Ameripolitan Music Awards with a 24-hour broadcast on KCHUNG Radio starting at 6pm PT Saturday, January 7. He’ll welcome a slew of guests who’ve earned nominations in various Ameripolitan categories (AJ Hobbs, Lara Hope, Jason James, et al.). Guest times will be posted on Both Kinds of Music’s Facebook and Instagram. This special show will broadcast from Don's home via KCHUNG Radio’s mobile stream. The Both Kinds of Music Show mixes contemporary, off-the-dial country music from the 90s to now with classic country artists dating from the 30s-70s. Sorry 80s country, you lose! Ameripolitan, by the organization’s definition, is original music with prominent roots influence: Honky Tonk, Rockabilly, Western Swing, and Outlaw music. Both Kinds of Music has supported these genres since our inception in 2009 and since the beginning of our radio show in 2012. Don Sticksel, an Ameripolitan DJ nominee, specializes in promoting new artists who preserve the classic sound while pushing it forward with modern sensibilities. His motto is simple: Country for City Folk. Voting for the 2017 Ameripolitan Music Awards is open now and closes 11:59pm on Jan 8, 2017. This year’s nominees and ballot casting can be found here. The award show takes place in Austin, TX at the Paramount Theatre, Wednesday, Feb 15, 2017 at 8pm. When not pulling a 24-hour stunt, The Both Kinds of Music Show regularly broadcasts on Saturdays from 9-11am PT on kchungradio.org.
