NASHVILLE, Tenn. (August 11, 2016) – Charlie Daniels has never fit into any certain label, purposely creating a sound and blend of music all his own. The new album, Night Hawk, stays true to that tradition with Daniels putting a unique spin on cowboy songs both well known and uncovered from through the years. The album will be available on August 26 at www.CharlieDaniels.com, FYE, and wherever music is sold. Night Hawk will be available for presale on August 15 here where the first 100 autographed copies sold will also be hand numbered by Charlie Daniels himself. "Most of our concepts about cowboys, and all things western, are mostly derived from movies and TV. Well, the truth of the matter is, the real cowboys are not glow in the dark characters who go around fighting rustlers and cleaning out saloons with their fists. The actual working cowboy is a hard working, different breed who spend endless hours in the saddle and as Louis L’Amour said, they ‘ride for the brand.’ Night Hawk is a tribute to the working cowboy and his way of life,” said Charlie Daniels.
Night Hawk is a reflection of stories from the trail told by cowboys around the campfire through the years. Many of the songs, introduced in an acoustic style, are obscure songs with deep meaningful lyrics, while some are classics presented in a new way. NIGHT HAWK TRACK LISTING:
The album comes in the midst of one of the most important years of Charlie Daniels’ career. In early 2016 it was announced that he would become the newest inductee to the Country Music Hall of Fame, along with Randy Travis and Fred Foster. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum curtailed that with the announcement of an exhibit in his honor, called Million Mile Reflections, set to openSeptember 23. Adding to the fun, Kid Rock, Chris Stapleton, Travis Tritt, Larry the Cable Guy and more will join Charlie in celebration at his 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam on November 30 at Bridgestone Arena. For decades, he has connected with his millions of fans in the varying genres of music that reflect his steadfast refusal to label his music as anything other than the "Charlie Daniels Band" sound — music that is now sung around the fire at 4-H Club and scout camps, helped elect an American President, and been popularized on a variety of radio formats. Having celebrated multiple GRAMMY® Awards, CMA Awards, ACM Awards, BMI Awards, GMA Dove Awards, CCMA Awards, his list of accolades is broad; the latest being an announcement that he is the latest inductee to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Six of his albums have been RIAA Certified Multi-Platinum® and he has achieved a platinum-selling single in his iconic fiddle-ridden hit, "Devil Went Down To Georgia." An outspoken American Patriot and strong supporter of the U.S. Military, Daniels' talked-about Volunteer Jam concerts are world-famous musical extravaganzas featuring artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ted Nugent, Trace Adkins, Alabama and others, all on one stage for one purpose – to raise funds for our U.S. Military. His 40th Anniversary Volunteer Jam held in 2015 raised over $300,000 for The Journey Home Project, a non-profit veterans assistance organization which he co-founded.
