![]() NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 2, 2016) -- Singer-songwriter Jessie G (Hook & Line) will make official introductions to the country music sector and its listeners with her debut single entitled “Drop A Line.”* Co-written alongside Joshua Withenshaw and Davis Branch, and produced by Grammy-award winning entertainer Gretchen Wilson, the track is featured on Jessie G’s upcoming self-titled independent EP and is scheduled to impact radio Monday, April 18, 2016. The catchy, up beat, tongue-in-cheek tune is a comfortable mix of country rock and swampy blues. With the kick of Miranda Lambert’s “Gunpowder And Lead” and the reveled sentiment of “Redneck Woman” (Gretchen Wilson), the harmonica and banjo-driven "Drop A Line" showcases badass, girl-powered, matter-of-fact lyrics fully dressed in a fun-loving, good-time vibe. "This song fits me like a glove. It’s a play on words encompassing my family heritage (four generations of fisherman) and our lifestyle; it’s who I am,” saidJessie G. “The songwriting is demonstrative of my style; the lyrics are poetic and have multiple meanings; the vocals are gritty and the instrumentation is bluesy and rockin'. I think the song makes a bold statement; I’m laying it out there just like folks would usually only hear from men!”
As a youngster, Jessie spent much of her childhood tagging alongside her dad on the fishing docks, aboard the hand-built family boat or selling fresh-caught seafood in her hometown of Brookings, Oregon. The lifestyle and hard work became Jessie’s early means to support her true passion—to become a performing country artist. Jessie’s music translation infuses a well-rounded mix of genres—the sounds of Janis Joplin, Reba McEntire, The Dixie Chicks, Halestorm, Van Halen and Aerosmith. Listeners will be entrenched by her hard rock edge intertwined with jazz rhythms all wrapped up in a country mix bursting with flavor. “From the moment I heard her voice, I knew she was someone special with special talent,” said Gretchen Wilson. "I’ve met and seen some extraordinarily talented artists, but none have made the impression that Jessie has. Jessie G means business when it comes to her music and we should welcome her to the music business!" A seasoned performer, Jessie has taken the stage at notable fairs and festivals (including The Oregon Jamboree, Willamette Country Music Festival, Cape Blanco Music Festival and more), and at some of Nashville’s hot spots (such as Listening Room Café, Tin Roof and Winners). Jessie will release her debut seven-song self-titled EP (JESSIE G/produced by Gretchen Wilson featuring Wilson co-writes and harmony vocals) in the coming months. “Drop A Line” will be available via all digital outlets Monday, April 4, 2016.
