Cyndi Lauper's 'DETOUR' Charts No. 4 On Billboard Top Country Albums

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 16, 2016 PR) – Known best for her legendary pop icon status, Cyndi Lauper is reigning in a new legion of fans with her new country-tinged album DETOUR (available here), which just debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

"These songs had a profound impact on me when I was a little girl listening to my Aunt Gracie's kitchen radio in Queens. I grew up listening and admiring Patsy Cline, Patsy Montana, Hank Williams - all the greats from the Golden Age of country. DETOUR marks the Grammy®, Emmy® and Tony®-winning singer-songwriter’s foray into the country music arena, with a sweeping collection of country covers from the 40s, 50s and 60s, and media are already buzzing about the pop star’s unique approach:
