Renowned producer Darryl Neudorf (Neko Case, Sarah McLachlan, Blue Rodeo) quickly signed on to work with King after hearing early demos.

The album was recorded and mixed at Operation Northwoods in Mono, Ontario, Canada.  Neudorf claims,  "Where a feather weighs hard and heavy, and the depth is as wide as an Idaho sunset, David Robert King's new album IDAHO hands the listener his storied life- raw, naked and exposed for us all to witness.”  Grammy-winning singing titans The Blind Boys of Alabama also came on board to augment King’s brooding vocals with their harmonies on the title track “Idaho.”

In addition to his travels with Gauthier, King has also shared stages with Josh Ritter, The Mark O'Connor Band, Tim O'Brien, Loudon Wainwright III, Darrell Scott, and Over The Rhine. He has collaborated with Emily Saliers of The Indigo Girls, Jonatha Brooke and others. This combination led to a top 40 song on folk and roots radio, wide critical acclaim, and featured spots at the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, AMERICANAFEST 2017, and 30A Songwriter’s Festival. King has also been named a finalist in the 2017 NewSong Music Competition, and he will perform November 30 at Lincoln Center in New York to perform and compete for this year’s top honors.
