Nashville, TN (July 27, 2016 Press Release) --- Eli Young Band recently made a special visit to Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany to once again entertain members of the Armed Forces. For Tech. Sgt. Timothy Covey and his family, a night under the stars with the GRAMMY-nominated musicians was the perfect ending to his tour of duty In Germany. With a Permanent Change of Station scheduled just three days later, Covey, his wife Carol and their three children bid Ramstein Air Force Base a fond farewell by enjoying the concert. They were among the estimated 5,500 fans in attendance during the July 16 concert. The Exchange, Pizza Hut and the 86th Force Support Squadron teamed up to present the show. “We’re country music fans and also fans of the band, so we’re pretty excited to be here,” Tech. Sgt. Covey said. “Events like these are a great morale booster. It’s great to be able to come out and just relax and not have to worry about work.” The band performed a set for the Kaiserslautern military community, including their new single “Saltwater Gospel,” along with #1 hits “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” “Drunk Last Night,” and “Crazy Girl.”
“What a great event and what better way to show the Kaiserslautern military community how much they are appreciated,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Sean Applegate, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “The Exchange and Pizza Hut are thrilled to play a role in providing the concert for this wonderful community.” The day before the concert, Eli Young Band took time to meet with members of the military, sign autographs, take pictures and hand out t-shirts. Fans began lining up hours before the event in anticipation of the festivities. The show marked the third concert the Eli Young Band has performed for the military community recently, in partnership with Pizza Hut. In October 2014, they made a trip to the winning base, Camp Hansen, in Okinawa, Japan with over 7,000 military members and families in attendance. Last March, they took the stage for a show at Fort Benning, GA for more than 4,000 fans. For tour dates and more, visit EliYoungBand.com.
