Girls Guns & Glory Unleash New Album 'Love and Protest' Jan. 13th in Streaming and Vinyl Formats12/20/2016 (Los Angeles Press Release) America's hardest-working, grittiest roots rock ensemble Girls Guns & Glory announces the Jan. 13th release of Love and Protest on vinyl and over all major streaming services. This generous 13-track package debuted in November on CD and in digital formats. Timeless, tough and immediate, Love and Protest will be heralded on Jan. 12 when the band premieres its video for "Memories Don't Die," a painfully introspective but hard-driving lament that captures the intensity and honesty of the album's every cut. Media raves have already been piling up. The Alternate Root writes that "Girls Guns & Glory collect riffs, rattle and roar from the 1950s, '60s, '70s as they push out a dozen new children on Love and Protest." Rolling Stone credits the first single, "Rock 'n' Roll," for having "one of the most self-aware lines of the year: 'I'm a hunter and collector of things. / I keep holding on to bad memories." And No Depression calls it "GGG's strongest outing to date ... a well-written, varied and cohesive record that you'll be spinning well after 2016 comes to a close."
Long embraced any fans who revel in GGG's epic live shows, songwriter/lead singer/guitarist Ward Hayden, guitarist Cody Nilsen, bassist/singer Paul Dilley and drummer Josh Kiggans continue to add new dates to the tour they launched in November. At these shows as through each moment of Love and Protest, their first-ever independent album, Hayden promises that "We're making the music we want to make. We're willing to do whatever feels right to create music for ourselves and our fans."
