(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) When is a debut single a gold-certified chart-topper before its release? That's no riddle, it's a fact: Gord Bamford's "When Your Lips Are So Close" impacts U.S. country radio stations July 13 in a bid to bring its North-of-the-border dominance to a wider American audience. The Canadian Country Music Association Single of the Year in 2014, makes Gord only the 7th Canadian artist to top the country charts in Canada. The song helped propel Alberta native Gord Bamford's already impressive career to headliner status. The rollout in the U.S. follows acclaimed performances and the commencement of a well-received radio tour, both of which have seeded interest in the States. "Game on," Bamford says of the launch. "We've put a lot of thought and planning into bringing the music down here and it's great to get going full blast. The crowds and programmers have been great so far and it really feels like there's a place for this song and the rest of my music here in the US, without doubt the biggest country market in the world." Commencing visits with top U.S. radio gatekeepers earlier this month, Bamford recently played the ACM's Party For A Cause Festival in Dallas. He also performed at the All Star Jamfollowing the Guinness World Record-setting 50th Annual ACM Awards at AT&T Stadium. Honored as the CMA's Global Artist of the Year in 2013, Gord is a 19-time Canadian Country Music Association winner and the reigning Male Artist of the Year. Learn more at www.gordbamford.com.
