Nashville, TN (Press Release) - Rising star and Word Country Songwriter Hannah Ellis is set to perform her moving and personal tribute “Officer Down” during the 35th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, sponsored by the Grand Lodge Fraternal Order of Police and the Grand Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary, at the West Front Capitol in Washington, DC. The service, being held on Sunday, May 15th, will honor fallen members of local enforcement from across the country and draws nearly 40,000 members of the law enforcement community annually. “Officer Down,” written by Wordcountry writers Steven Dale Jones, Justin Ebach and Ellis, is a tribute dedicated to Officer Daniel Ellis, her cousin who lost his life in the line of duty. Ellis is honored to share this song, written from the perspective of his wife, at the Nation’s Capitol this weekend to salute all the fallen heroes. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to honor my cousin and all the other fallen heroes at the Memorial Service,” says Ellis. “It was such a tragic time for my family so it’s a huge blessing to honor him in such a big way at the Capitol of our great country."
