(Nashville, Tenn. – May 26, 2015) – One of Country music’s finest, John Anderson, has released his new album, Goldmine, today, May 26. The highly anticipated new album, which features songs of faith, family, loss, the love of life and more, marks Anderson’s first studio album release in nine years. Track by track, the lyrics are reflective to Anderson’s life and experiences. Of the new music, MusicRow Magazine’s Robert K. Oermann commented,“Warmth. That’s what it is: The voice of John Anderson is the sound of warmth. This remarkable instrument is capable of conjuring emotions ranging from soul-piercing sadness to uplifting celebration, from empty resignation to goofy hilarity. To this day, John Anderson’s singing is so original that he stands alone in his genre. Indeed, he defines it. For if nothing else, the voice of John Anderson is the sound of country music. Amen.” Released on his own record label, Bayou Boys Music, and co-produced by Anderson and his long-time friend, Joe Spivey, the 13-track collection of original material features Anderson’s signature sound. The award-winning and hall of fame songwriter wrote or co-wrote 12 of the album’s 13 tracks. “With Goldmine, I thought, first off, I’m going to take my songs into the studio and make a record like I think it ought to be made, without all those other influences,” Anderson says, “I’m more pleased with the sound of this record than I have been in a long time.” John Anderson shares why he wrote and or recorded each track in a detailed cut x cut, available here. The new album is now available for download on iTunes, Amazon and other major digital retailers. Included on the album is leadoff single “I Work a Lot Better,” which hit radio in mid-May. The rocking mid-tempo track is in the style of previous chart-topping hits, such as “Money in the Bank.” Fellow artist Marty Stuart also commented on Anderson’s new album, saying, “Every time John Anderson makes a record, I consider it to be a gift. His voice and his very presence are to be considered treasures among the remnants of authentic country music in the twenty first century. John stands as one of the true greats. His new project, Goldmine, proves that point.” This past weekend, Anderson was the featured act on Artist Confidential, which aired on Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country (Ch. 60). Hosted by Outlaw Country’s Elizabeth Cook, the concert showcased Anderson performing new music off his new album as well as some of his greatest hits. Jamey Johnson also made a special appearance and joined Anderson for his classic, “Swingin’.” The show is set to re-air on Prime Country. Raised in Apopka, Fla., John Anderson grew up listening to both rock and traditional country. In the end, Anderson resisted the call of rock ‘n roll and chose to pursue his country music dreams, and is recognized as one of the greatest country singers to ever step up to the microphone and possesses one of the most instantly identifiable vocal instruments in the history of the genre. Anderson is currently touring heavily throughout the United States. For a complete list of upcoming tour dates, please visit JohnAnderson.com/tour.
