Singer-songwriter Kelly Willis returns with a new album, and her first in over ten years, Back Being Blue, due May 18th. Produced by spouse Bruce Robison, Back Being Blue contains ten tracks, six of which were penned by Willis with additional contributions from Rodney Crowell who wrote “We’ll Do It For Love Next Time” as well as appearances by Eleanor Whitmore (of The Mastersons and Steve Earle and the Dukes), Mark Spencer (of Son Volt), and Trevor Nealoh (of Band of Heathens). “I attempted to make music that could fit in any era. But leans on the simplicity of the music that first inspired me. Roots rockabilly country blues, to narrow it down for you! Kind of a Nick Lowe meets Skeeter Davis meets Crystal Gayle. Sounds that were in full blaze when I first moved to Austin.” – Kelly Willis Pre-order the album HERE.
