Greenville, NC (June 2, 2016 PR) -- Basis Entertainment has announced multi-platinum award-winning American Rock 'n roll icon, Kid Rock, to join Eric Church for the inaugural Carolina Kickoff Concert at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on August 20. Kid Rock, a native of Detroit, whose musical style ranges from hip hop and rock to heavy metal and country, has sold over 26 million albums worldwide since breaking onto the scene in the 1990's. The multi-instrumentalist has made hits across genres, from rap and rock with singles “Bawitdaba” and “Cowboy,” to country with “Picture,” collaboration with Sheryl Crow that charted No. 4 on the Hot 100. Rock’s 2007 album featuring the song “All Summer Long,” charted at No. 1 in eight countries across Europe and Australia, and the music video received more than 48 million views on YouTube. Rock has consistently released albums since 1990, many of them going platinum and multi-platinum with spots in the Top 10. Rock will join previously announced headliner, and North Carolina native, Eric Church for this once-in-a-lifetime concert event. Church, a two-time Country Music Association and four-time Academy of Country Music award winner, was named among the "50 Greatest Live Acts Right Now" by Rolling Stone and was ranked No.1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot Tours Chart for his successful "The Outsiders World Tour" in 2015.
In addition to Rock and Church, Americana-country singer-songwriter Margo Price has been added to the impressive line-up. Price recently made history with her debut album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter, on Jack White's Nashville-based Third Man Records, garnering the Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart at No. 10 with 4,000 sold in its opening week, according to Nielsen Music. Price has received rave review from music critics making her one of the year's most buzzworthy artists and landing her performance slots on NBC's Saturday Night Live and CBS's Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
