![]() East Nashville Singer / Songwriter Matt Haeck To Release Debut Album Late Bloomer June 3rd Via Blaster Records Album Features Guest Appearances From Critter Fuqua (Old Crow Medicine Show), Paul Defiglia (The Avett Brothers), Caitlin Rose and Elizabeth Cook Nashville, TN (Press Release) - The songs on Matt Haeck’s debut album, Late Bloomer, are permeated with evocative tales of struggle with vice, addiction, depression, divorce and other demons. He is scrappy with a genuine, lyrical voice. Haeck sings of hard earned truths, both his own and those of the imaginative characters he creates. The David Mayfield produced LP, Late Bloomer, was recorded in East Nashville at East Side Manor Studios and will be released via Blaster Records on June 3rd. Matt Haeck (pronounced Heck) was born in the West Indies to missionary parents and started out following a somewhat preordained path towards Christian ministry. Along that path, while nearing completion of his Masters of Divinity degree, Haeck experienced a profound loss of connection to theology and responded to his truer calling, music.
His profound life shift was accompanied by a four year descent into addiction to alcohol, cocaine and pills, which delayed Haeck’s musical development. It was only a through a stint in rehab, a year-long relapse, and a second, deeper attempt that his sobriety finally took root and his sense of purpose returned. During that time, Haeck began to craft the songs that would become Late Bloomer and was cast in Studio Tenn’s critically-acclaimed stage production of “The Hank Legacy” and later, “The Cash Legacy.” Of the album title, Late Bloomer, Matt shares matter-of-factly, “I’ve never been a prodigy. In the years just after college, where I studied classical voice, I began writing and performing songs of my own, but due to a background in which I was taught to follow rules, I had the damnedest struggle discovering my own voice as a writer and a singer.” “I didn’t examine myself and begin to really grow into the man I want to be until I was 30 years old,” says Haeck. “I have a long way to go, but there’s so much I’m eager to discover along the way. And that discovery, that trip, is where the good stuff lives." Late Bloomer will be released digitally, on CD and on a limited-edition run of vinyl. Blaster Records is distributed by RED Distribution. For More Information, Visit: http://www.matthaeckmusic.com/
