Listen HERE (Edinburg, Texas) -- Matt & The Herdsmen is pleased to announce today's release of their fifth single, "Hello Heartache," to Texas radio. Following the band's first Top 40 single, "Miss My Chance," this is the second song from the CD, STILL SANE, which was produced by Dave Percefull at yellow DOG Studios in Wimberely, Texas. "Hello Heartache" is being promoted to radio by Dillon Steen of Steen Entertainment. Penned by Matt Castillo and Jordan Daughtery, this classic Honky-Tonk two-stepper is driven by pedal steel, guitar and fiddle and tells the story of running into an ex at a local dance hall. We all know that coming off a fresh break-up isn't easy, especially if you were the one on the receiving end. Just when you think you have your life back together, "Hello Heartache" sums up what its like when that ex walks right in with their friends and no amount of liquid courage can prepare you for fighting the urge to not wake up in their bed. "As a true Honky-Tonk tune, We're excited to bring back that sound to radio with 'Hello Heartache'," said Castillo. "We love the energy the song brings and how it has that traditional country feel with the pedal steel and electric guitar. It's been a whirlwind of shows and radio visits since 'Miss My Chance' become our first Top 40 hit and we are looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say about this new single."
Led by Castillo, who formed The Herdsmen in 2013 with bandmates Everto "Beto" Cavazos (Guitar), Danny Salinas (Bass), and Ruben Cantu (Drums), they debuted in December 2014 with SMALL TOWN STORIES, produced by Charlie Vela (Dia Frampton of "The Voice"). Enlisting esteemed radio promoter Dillon Steen to introduce their catchy rhythmic music to radio, their first single, "Dance All Night" (#47), broke into the Top 50 on the Texas Regional Radio Report. The second single, "All Gone," peaked at #88, while "Too Drunk Anyway" hit #46 and landed on the Top 200 songs of 2016. Providing audiences a tug-and-pull filled with country twang, soft ballads, and a punch in the face with the Texas/Red Dirt sound, their presence on stage is opened up with the addition of Omar Oyoque on pedal steel. Matt & The Herdsmen have shared the stage with such top tier talent as Toby Keith, Jack Ingram, Randy Rogers band, Casey Donahew band, Kyle Park, William Clark Green, Pat Green, and Mike and The Moonpies. From hallowed dance halls to jam-packed festivals, the band has played many of Texas' most popular venues including River Road Icehouse (New Braunfels), John T. Floore Country Store (Helotes), House Pasture Cattle Co. (Concan), Whisky Girl Saloon (Ft. Worth), Smokin' on the Rio and Watermelon Festival (Alamo).
