Teaming up with Dirty Canvas's Shep Goodman and Aaron Accetta (American Authors, Young Rising Sons) James’ debut single "Give It To Me Straight" bursts with a spontaneous energy via pulsating drum beats, driving bass lines, and an infectious chorus. James reveals, "They say some of your best work or the best songs you write appear from the sky and happen pretty instantaneous....well I feel 'Give It To Me Straight’ felt like one those songs”.
