Miranda Lambert's Platinum Tops the Billboard 200

Miranda Lambert's Platinum sits atop the all-genre Billboard 200 as the #1 album in the nation with 180,000 albums sold. In addition, Miranda becomes the only country artist in the 50-year history of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart to have each of her first five albums debut at #1. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Platinum marks a 35% increase in sales over her previous album release.

Platinum’s debut single, “Automatic," hit #1 this week and has been certified gold. The song marks Miranda’s 7th #1 single. “Thanks to Country Radio for being so good to me over the years and helping me get to #1 this past week with ‘Automatic,’” said Miranda. “This song is dear to my heart as it reminds me who I am and where I come from. It was written with two amazingly talented girlfriends who deserve all the great things that come their way,” she continued.
