Newcomer April Kry Catches the Attention of Martina McBride

Recently April Kry performed in studio at Sirius XM's The Highway. Just as she was about to perform Martina McBride's "Broken Wing," DJ Storme Warren texted Martina, asking her to tune in to the performance. For April, this was a dream come true! After a moment of anxious excitement, April blew listeners away with her awe inspiring rendition of "A Broken Wing." Growing up, April was strongly influenced by her father's love for country music. She would dig into his music and particularly remembers singing along for hours to McBride's power ballads in her room. April shares, "As a young girl, I strived to reach her level of vocal ability and passion when she performed...I admired her for singing songs of depth and great meaning and that quality inspires my songwriting today."

Continuing the excitement from her visit to The Highway, April, joined by her father, has followed up with a cover of McBride's "Independence Day."
