SPIRIT OF THE SUWANNEE MUSIC PARK & CAMPGROUND, LIVE OAK, FLA. – The 2017 Old Tyme Farm Days and Swap Meet held Nov. 24-25 at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Fla. was a huge success again with many new vendors, tractors, an expanded Kids Music Expo and more entertainment. Some of the vendors included were Custom Concrete Creations of Live Oak with the beautiful wood look of concrete in outdoor tables and seating, Southern Fire Pits of Mayo with its spectacular fire pits designs; Barbara Phipps of Dowling Park showing her custom, handmade quilted baby blankets, quilts, calligraphy, banners and more; John L. Colson of Chiefland with stunning outdoor swing seating; Goat Milk Skin Solutions of Live Oak and oh so many more wonderful vendors. Arts and crafts ranged from one of a kind handmade bird houses made by a couple from Waycross, Georgia, a Valdosta, Ga. vendor who had canned food, along with frozen casseroles, pies and you name it! Fresh Market by Satuwira Trading Company was there with fresh vegetables and more, jams and jellies were sold at several vendor sites, Kettle Korn, many arts and crafts, antique motors, tractors, equipment and ice cream churns where yummy ice cream was made throughout the day, handmade jewelry, yard sale items, toys, home decor and many, many more wonderful items were on sale during the two-day event outdoors. There were kids’ games, mandolin, ukulele, drum, clogging and guitar workshops, Simply Acoustic live music, a tractor parade each day, a chain saw artist making one of a kind turtles, bears and filling requests, clogging performances, a jam session at the end of each day, yard sales, unexpected jam sessions, a very popular tractor sled pull, golf carting, great food vendors to keep everyone filled for all the activities they were involved in and just lots and lots of happy people everywhere! Hundreds of families held their annual reunions during this Old Tyme Thanksgiving weekend and also attended the community Thanksgiving Dinner held in the Music Hall Thanksgiving Day or held their own event at their cabins or campsites. All in all, a wonderful weekend with good times, great music, good friends and all who attended looking forward to next year on Nov. 23-24, 2018.
