Opry City Stage Announces Stellar Line-Up of Shows in NYC

In the heart of NYC is Opry City Stage which brings Nashville to New York with delicious food and live country music. ​Friday, April 20 @ 8pm  – Chip Taylor: 2016 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Chip (aka James Wesley Voight) is celebrating the release of his new album "Fix Your Words" - on the cover is a nostalgic family photo of Chip with brothers Barry and Jon Voight and their mother, Barbara.  Chip is best known for writing the songs "Angel Of The Morning" and "Wild Thing." 

• Saturday, April 21 @ 8pm - Maggie Rose:  Maggie has played the Opry nearly 50 times in Nashville, and she is a member of CMT’s “18 for 2018” initiative, the year-long campaign spotlighting country music’s most promising newcomers. 

• Sunday, April 22 @ 8pm – Hayley Orrantia with Brennley Brown: Hayley is the star of ABC's hit sitcom, "The Goldbergs."  This performance is part of her first-time-ever tour - Strong, Sweet & Southern Tour.  She will be singing original music as well as cover tunes she has done on the show.  Brennley was one of the youngest contestants on The Voice season 12 (2017).

• Thursday, April 26 @ 8pm  – Drew Baldridge: Drew has opened shows for Cole Swindell, Jerrod Niemann, Eric Paslay, Dustin Lynch, and his 2016 debut "Dirt on Us" found him scoring several charting singles – including the Spotify streaming hit "Rebound" – with his pop-rock-country and rhythmic r&b sound.

• Friday, April 27 @ 7pm & 9:30pm -The Bluebird Cafe Songwriter Series featuring Lee Miller, Wendell Mobley, Bob DiPiero: Every other Friday, Country music fans in the heart of Times Square are transported to Music City as The Bluebird Cafe Songwriter Series features Country music's #1 hit songwriters performing in the intimate 'in the round' style signature of The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.  Featured songwriter Wendell Mobley has written songs for Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, and many more.  

• Saturday, April 28 @ 8pm - Kalie Shorr: In 2017, Kalie released her Slingshot EP to rave reviews and was named “New Artist You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone, “The New Nashville” by Teen Vogue, and one of “2017’s Hottest Artists Under 25” by Taste of Country.  She has been recently named a CMT Next Women of Country and a “Top 10 Country Artists To Watch In 2018” by the Huffington Post.  Kalie recently released her new EP Awake and is currently touring with Sara Evans and RaeLynn on the CMT Next Women of Country All For Love Tour.

• Friday, May 11 @ 7pm & 9:30pm -The Bluebird Cafe Songwriter Series featuring Leslie Satcher, Marv Green, Tim Nichols: Leslie Satcher has written or co-written songs that have been recorded by everyone from Willie Nelson to Ariana Grande; Vince Gill to Sheila E.; George Strait to Sheryl Crow; Martina McBride to Keb’Mo; Blake Shelton to Bonnie Raitt and many, many more.  Marv Green has has his songs recorded by George Strait, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Reba, Jewel, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Faith Hill, and Bon Jovi.  Grammy-winning songwriter Tim Nichols has written songs for Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, and Dustin Lynch.  Saturday, May 12 @ 9:30pm - Cale Dodds: Named one of Rolling Stone's "Country Artists You Need To Know," Cale has just released his breakthrough single "Take You Back."
• Friday, May 18 @ 8pm – Jeffrey Steele: A five time Grammy Nominee, Jeffrey has been recognized by BMI for over 63 million airplays for hits he penned for a multitude of artists including Keith Urban, Eric Church, Zac Brown Band, Jimmy Buffett, Montgomery Gentry, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cher, .38 Special, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts and Van Zant, Joe Cocker, Little Feat ft. Bob Seger, Joe Bonamassa, Cascada, Randy Travis, Aaron Lewis, Alabama and more.  His latest album features performances with Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Jamey Johnson, and John Rich.
• Saturday, May 19 @ 8pm - Lee Roy Parnell: A Grammy-nominated Americana/Blues-Rock artist known for his guitar prowess (particularly slide guitar), smooth soul-drenched voice, and top-shelf songwriting skills, Parnell launched his solo career on Arista Records, which produced many country hits including “A Little Bit Of You” (#1 hit); “What Kind of Fool Do You Think I Am” & “Tender Moment” (#2 hits), and four other Top 10 hits:  “Love Without Mercy,” “On The Road,” “I’m Holding My Own,” and “Heart’s Desire.”   Parnell produced and co-wrote all 10 songs on his new album "Midnight Believer" with award-winning songwriter Greg Barnhill.
• Monday, May 21 @ 8pm - John McEuen: A Nitty Gritty Dirt Band founding member (1966), in October of 2017 at the conclusion of the 50th year anniversary tour, John left the band to pursue his own tour dates and projects.  John has made over 40 albums (6 solo) that have earned 4 platinum and 5 gold recognitions, Grammy, CMA and ACM awards, Emmy nomination, IBMA record of the year award, and performed on another 25 albums as guest artist.  April of 2018 will see the publication of his book "The Life I’ve Picked" on Chicago Review Press.
• Thursday, May 31 @ 6:30pm & 9pm - Pam Tillis Trio: Throughout her career, Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Pam Tillis has released more than 30 singles that reached the US Billboard charts and 10 studio albums.  Her songs have been recorded by some of the biggest names throughout all genres of music, including artists like Chaka Khan, Juice Newton, Dan Seals, Gloria Gaynor, Conway Twitty and the top ten “Someone Else’s Trouble Now” for Highway 101.
• Friday, June 15 @ 8pm - Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame and Songwriter’s Hall of Fame Member”,Whispering' Bill Anderson: Bill performs at Opry City Stage the day after his induction into the Songwriter's  Hall of Fame.  He is the rare songwriter whose first major label cut went to No. 1 on the charts, was named Song of The Year, and sparked a writing career that is currently in its seventh decade. The song, "City Lights," was written when Anderson was a 19-year old Georgia disc jockey and became a career-defining hit for Ray Price in 1958.  Bill continues to write today with songs like Brad Paisley’s "Dying To See Her.

• Saturday, July 14 @ 8pm - Radney Foster: Radney newest project--a CD/book combo titled  "For You To See The Stars" is acollection of short stories.  Since the 1980s, his songs — recorded solo, with Foster & Lloyd, and by other artists — have topped the country, Americana and AAA (adult album alternative) charts alike.  Randy's written and produced songs for Randy Rogers, Jack Ingram, Kacey Musgraves, Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott, Pat Green, Cory Morrow and many others.

• Thursday, July 19 @ 8pm - Jerry Douglas: Dobro master and 14-time Grammy winner Jerry Douglas is to the resonator guitar what Jimi Hendrix was to the electric guitar: elevating, transforming, and reinventing the instrument in countless ways. In addition to being widely recognized as the foremost master of the Dobro, Jerry Douglas is a freewheeling, forward-thinking recording artist whose output incorporates elements of bluegrass, country, rock, jazz, blues and Celtic into his distinctive musical vision.
