Nashville, TN-(March 16 Press Release)-Born out of the Dallas, Texas melting pot of sounds, Prophets & Outlaws is a band compiled of brothers and friends whose broad musical tastes, cultivated over a decade, have put them all over the Texas music charts and in front of thousands of clamoring fans. After years of running the highways chasing four perpetually successful EP’s, the guys will release their brand new EP “V” on March 25th, marking their fifth project release that represents the full culmination of the trek they have compassed. Their big release show will happen at the House of Blues in Dallas on March 25th. Showtime is 9:00 PM. Fans are encouraged to keep track of the band’s social platforms throughout March for sneak peeks and special giveaways. www.prophetsandoutlaws.com Their name is one steeped in duality, an echo of the same kind of dualities that live in perfect harmony inside their music. PAO is a Texas soul bandwith rich R&B grooves, gospel overtones, rock & roll undercurrents, faint country pheromones, and then there's Matt Boggs' voice: throaty, born in soul, and rugged with just enough polish to demonstrate the sheer power he wields. PAO is simply a band that must be heard to be truly understood, and it’s their unique stylings and homegrown chemistry that brings music fans out to their live shows night after night. Their peers agree.
"If you think you like these guys on the radio wait till you see em‘ live These cats do it like they mean it" -Larry Joe Taylor "Matt's a great singer and these guys mix genuine country music with a sultry harmony of soul that fits perfectly in the groove of their band for an awesome sound." -Curtis Grimes The choice to bring in Jason Burt as producer on this new EP proved a wise decision indeed. Also from Dallas, Burt ‘s oblivion to the Texas Music Scene sound brought forth unbiased ears and a rejuvenating sound that allowed the guys for the first time to relinquish absolute control in the studio. What emerged is a stunning V-song collection from a V-piece band thick with V-part harmonies. What’s most compelling about this new collection is the transformation that happened in the recording process. “Show Me” was originally written as a country soul song, but coming through the control board, materialized into pure old R&B nostalgia with classic harmonies and silky-groove indulgence. The mighty “Lonely,” originally written as a country song (and sang by Matt Boggs at his audition for CMT’s “Can You Duet”), is now a soul bearing monster with razor sharp, heart-piercing guitar licks. The metamorphosis of each song were so profound, the guys could not believe what they were hearing. Even “Outlaw Like Me,” a song imbued in country lyric sentimentality, comes down with a bad case of the blues, sick with gospel overtones. The collection also brandishes rougher fare with “Party Like This” and “We’re Gonna Make It,” songs that fume with rock vapors. No matter what the style of sound you hear, the guys perform it with expert precision. Theirs is a story of how genre lines are easily blurred and embraced even in a “scene” where the music fans have 20/20 vision. What do they believe is the moral of their story? “Whether you are a country music fan or not, everybody loves a groove.” Prophets & Outlaws are: Matt Boggs (Lead vocals, guitar), Steven Guckenheimer (lead guitar, vocals), James Guckenheimerck (drums, vocals), Jamie “Jelly” Ringholm (piano, vocals), CJ Thompson (bass, vocals). www.facebook.com/prophetsandoutlaws twitter.com/prophetsoutlaws
