 May 13, 2016 - Nashville, TN (Press Release) – Singer/songwriter Sean McConnell has announced 2016 tour dates in support of his self-titled upcoming release. The new album, which will be released on July 8th via Rounder Records, was co-produced by Ian Fitchuk and Jason Lehning. This album is a bit of a step for McConnell in contrast to his previous work. Sean McConnell includes more autobiographical material and features honest and understated writing, matched both sonically and vocally in the recording as well. McConnell travels the states performing his own style of music that he describes as “lyric driven Americana soul music.” McConnell, whose songs have been recorded by music greats Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Christina Aguilera, Buddy Miller, Rascal Flatts, Marc Broussard, Plain White T’s, Wade Bowen, the Brothers Osborne, Meatloaf, Martina McBride, the Eli Young Band, David Nail and others, and featured on the smash hit television show Nashville, is gearing up to bring his new album on the road this summer. McConnell’s summer 2016 tour dates kick off at Workplay in Birmingham, AL on July 8th. He will celebrate the release of his album with 13 shows throughout Texas, where he has been embraced by the homegrown “Red Dirt” community of singers & songwriters. Other dates of note include Terminal West in Atlanta, GA on July 9th and 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, TN on July 10th. McConnell will continue with a west coast tour starting in mid-August. Other dates include Valley Bar in Phoenix, AZ on August 30th and The Soiled Dove Underground in Denver, CO on September 1st.
McConnell writes vivid, forthright, effortlessly catchy songs whose incisive melodic craft is matched by their resonant emotional insight.
