Two-time Grammy Award winner Rickie Lee Jones will be hitting the road for a North American tour with Madeleine Peyroux. Rickie Lee Jones says of the upcoming tour, "I've genuinely enjoyed Madi's work over the years, so much so that I'm surprised it's taken this long for us to work together. Very excited at the prospect of recording some new material, and about the upcoming shows." Madeleine Peyroux adds, “It’s a rare occasion when one gets to share one’s life and work with a master. I consider my upcoming tour together with Rickie Lee Jones to be one of those timeless occasions. Embedded in her dulcet tones, supported by our vibrant and warm musicians, and through the conduit of so many American styles of song I’m sure this tour will encourage us all, and our highest spirits will shine through. We’re going to have fun!!!” Jones' 2015 album, The Other Side of Desire, was well received by the likes of NPR Music, and Uncut Magazine which gave the album a 9/10 calling it "an arrestingly ambigious musical journey...a record that crowns her career, not an end but as a culmination."
Rickie Lee Jones exploded onto the pop scene in 1979 and has made a career of fearlessly experimenting with her sound and persona over 15 critically acclaimed albums. A cultural phenomenon, Rolling Stone magazine put her on its cover twice in two years, and Saturday Night Live gave her an unprecedented three songs for her second appearance. Rickie is both a character in the songs and the songwriter singing, defying convention with her sometimes brazen sexuality and the mixed bag of jazz, rock and what has come to be known as 'confessional' songwriter performances.
