Watch "Golden Lady" HERE Rogue + Jaye, the musical partnership between Courtney Jaye and Zach Rogue, have released the music video for the single “Golden Lady,” taken from the band’s debut album, Pent Up. A song about self-love and consideration, “Golden Lady” details the all-too-common frustration with the universe and one’s ability to cope with a personally damaging situation. “This video symbolizes being trapped by your own fear, self-doubt, and lack of trust in universal timing,” Jaye says. “It was all about learning how to be patient, how to be alone, and how to love myself before I could love another. Throughout that lengthy, and at times incredibly dark and lonely process, I was able to go inward and eventually began to trust in myself, and in the process of life.” Available now on iTunes, Pent Up, a critically-acclaimed full-length praised by the likes of The Associated Press, Entertainment Weekly, American Songwriter and many more, is the showcase of two seasoned songwriters with immense vocal abilities coming together to produce a body of work that blends the best parts of Americana, Country, indie and pop into a vision singular to Jaye and Rogue. Pent Up was engineered by Logan Matheny at Bill Reynolds of Band of Horses’s Fleetwood Shack studio in Nashville, TN. On the album, Reynolds played bass, Seth Kauffman (Floating Action) played guitar, and Michael Libramento (Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Natalie Prass) played drums. The record was mixed and mastered by Mikael Eldridge (aka “Count”) in San Francisco. The release of Pent Up symbolizes a fresh start, creatively, for Jaye, whose path has taken her to Nashville, Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles and beyond. "My decision to move back to Los Angeles after living in Nashville for nine years was because I needed a change,” she continues. “I think both places will always feel like a home to me and will forever occupy equal space in my heart and equal influence over my music and sound. I've never been a traditional Pop, Americana, or Country artist, and living out west right now represents for me the freedom to be untethered to one particular musical sound, scene, or genre. And I feel this project is an extension of that."
Rogue + Jaye will be making the following appearance this July supporting Jack Johnson. More dates to be announced soon. JULY 13 - Denver, CO - Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre (supporting Jack Johnson)
