Parker Millsap blends elements of Mississippi John Hurt-style blues, old school country and his Pentecostal upbringing to create a sound uniquely his own. The singer-songwriter just released his sophomore album, The Very Last Day, which showcases Parker's growth as both artist and person. The Very Last Day draws you in with an apocalyptic theme and character-driven narratives that touch on a wide range of emotions. This is best illustrated on “Heaven Sent”, a song about the experience of a gay friend longing for acceptance from his evangelical father. NPR premiered the track in a Songs We Love feature. Millsap's charismatic live performances have garnered rave reviews from Billboard, Acoustic Guitar & American Songwriter. To say he’s captivating would be an understatement. See for yourself in Parker's performance on KEXP. Millsap will be in town at Club Helsinki on May 1st. Where: Club Helsinki, Hudson New York Date: May 1st Time: Doors 6pm/ Show 8pm Tickets: $18/$22
