Nashville, TN (Press Release) – Acclaimed, beloved and seminal band Son Volt has announced the reissue of two of their classic albums in April. On April 6th, a deluxe reissue of 2007’s The Search will feature all of the original tracks, plus songs from the band’s 2007 vinyl-only On Chant and Strum. The reissue will be available via CD, digital as well as a double vinyl opaque sea foam green pressing. This release has been sequenced to mirror On Chant and Strum. The original release of The Search is currently out of print. Set to be released on vinyl for the first time, Son Volt’s celebrated 2005 album Okemah And The Melody Of Riot will be featured as a double-LP Record Store Day Exclusive as an opaque red pressing. The package will include all album tracks from the 2005 release plus nine bonus tracks, featuring special performances from the previously released Afterglow EP (with live versions of “Joe Citizen Blues,” and “Medication”), On the Road and Revisited (live radio performances of “Afterglow 61,” “Gramophone,” “Ipecac,” “Bandages & Scars,” and “Atmosphere”), as well as unreleased versions of “Exurbia” and “Anacostia.” The special LP is a limited edition release with only 2000 units being pressed. Since the band launched in 1995, Son Volt and principal songwriter Jay Farrar have enjoyed a critically acclaimed career spanning more than two decades.
