For many, the holidays are simply not as merry and bright of a time as they are for others - especially if you’re still getting over someone. Chris Stalcup and The Grange capture this sadly relatable sentiment in their new tune, the appropriately titled, “I Hate Christmas.” Written by Stalcup, the shuffling melody of the track (with a nice touch of accordion and sleigh bells) pairs well with Stalcup’s raspy delivery in which he’s resigned to be alone, and lonely, while at the same time being fully aware that he’s partly to blame for his situation.
It may not be filled with holly jolly, but it’s loaded with truth, honesty - and maybe even a little hope. Listen to "I Hate Christmas" in full below. Purchase the track here. "You know I can't complain I'm pretty sure I am to blame 'Cause I hate everything And I hate Christmas And I hate New Years Eve And I ain't got a reason to put up a Christmas Tree It all just reminds me how lonely this life can be And I'll hate Christmas - until you come back to me"
