An alt-country band with punk roots, Vandoliers (frontman Joshua Fleming, bassist Mark Moncrieff, drummer Guyton Sanders, fiddler Travis Curry, electric guitarist Dustin Fleming and multi-instrumentalist Cory Graves) blend an eclectic mix of influences into a massively appealing musical melting-pot on their upcoming album,
Ameri-Kinda.

The second track from the album, "Don't Tell Me What To Do" mines that punk attitude and raucous energy  with a shuffling percussion, old-time piano and plenty of fiddle and banjo which, alongside Fleming's gravelly vocals, melt  into a fist-in-the-air anthem of self-acceptance perfect for the honky tonk or mosh pit.

Vocalist Joshua Fleming had this to say about the track, '"Don't Tell Me What to Do" was the first song I wrote for Ameri-Kinda,  it was also the hardest. It wasn't that I didn't know what I wanted to  say, rather I was worried about what others were going to think about me, or if they were going to think I was being inauthentic. But before  anyone had a chance to doubt me I was doubting myself. But I've always had this theory that every Texan is allowed to own a cowboy hat and a  pair of boots, no matter what kind of music they grew up listening to.  And, hey, people in other states already assume everybody from Texas  is a cowpoke and that we ride horses to work. So why couldn't a punk  kid from Dallas write a country song? In each line I spoke about my  insecurities --  how I talk, how I dress, where I'm from and where I  am going -- all while waving a middle finger proud in the air. It  became my battle cry. I decided I wasn't going to let anyone tell me  what type of songs I was allowed to do. From there, the rest of the album came pouring out quickly and easily. But I was only able to do  it because I started with "Don't Tell Me What to Do."

TDC brings you the exclusive song premiere for "Don't Tell Me What To Do"  which you can stream below. Ameri-Kinda releases October 21st on State Fair Records. For more information head to  their official website.
